Budgeting for DDP

I got an amazing deal on our room through a DVC member and since I saved so much over Disney room rates, I decided to buy the dining plan. I know the daily costs, but does anyone know how much tax will be? I have Disney Reward Dollars from my Visa which will cover the actual cost of the dining plan, but I don't know what to figure for tax.
Just trying to budget and have this whole vacation paid for before we go!

I am pretty sure that for the DDp you do not pay the tax... you just have to pay the tip at sit down diners. So it all depends on what restarants you are going to and how many are in your party.

Oh, so the 39.99 for adults does not have tax on it...I just pay tax at the restaurants?

No, the tax is pre-paid. Just budget for the gratuity at TS meals (and appetizers or alcohol, if desired) and you'll be fine. Enjoy!

There is no tax. Your $39.99 per day covers the dining plan for that day. Your only OOP costs will be your tip and anything you purchase outside of the DP (like alcoholic beverages).

The DP is not taxed. So take a look at the menus, see what you think you'll order, figure out the cost and then calculate what you would leave for a tip. Since you do not tip on tax, it is irrelevant what the tax is on the meal (FYI, I believe it is 6%).

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. We've never done DDP before, but with DD3, we're doing a ton of character meals and it seems like it will pay off for us. That helps tremendously with budgeting.:cool1:

We love the dining plan. It is really nice because it is like having an all-inclusive Disney vacation. Ok, except for gratuity. We are able to go to TS restaurants we may not have gone to before because it wasn't in our budget. Character meals are a lot of fun. Make sure you sit everyone just right so the person in your family taking pics can get the right angle with the characters and ALWAYS keep a napkin clean to lay down on the table to put your autograph books on top. We have 2 toddlers! Remember each person gets (for TS) their own app, meal plus dessert and a drink. DH and I coordiante so we get to try different dishes. You will NOT go hungry! We even used our snacks as breakfast-especially in MK Bakery!! YUM! (With all the walking calories are not really a plip on the radar :) We did the deluxe last year - WAY too much food. We buy the mugs also. Since we usually go to WDW during Christmas time it is nice to get a coffee to go in the morning then a hot chocolate on the way back to the room at night. Have a magical trip!!

This is not accurate. Appetizers are not included with the regular DDP, with the exception of the "special menu" meals at Le Cellier (and possibly one or two other restaurants).
