OK it is my little dream for next year. 4 of us would go 3rd week of March. DH, ME, DD 12 DS 9. Chicago out to Grand Canyon. We would like to maybe hike one day in the Grand Canyon. I know we need a permit-But where do we apply? I remember from here --stay at South Rim-But which hotel do you recommend? Hoover Dam one day. If they still do the calm pontoon raft on the river we would like to look into that. DH would like to fly over the grand canyon. Anything else for that area?
Then probably drive over to the California coast and go to an area to see whales. Kids would like to do a beach for a day. What would be our best place for that time of the year to see some whales. Then fly back home.
We could leave Friday nite and return the following Sunday if need be can add one more day either way.
