Budget sandals for girls

Last summer - my son LIVED in these shoes:

and these flip flops

they were $9 a pair from Wal-Mart - and thankfully they have them again this summer. Last year - I got him 1 pair of each - this summer - 2 pair of each - they were perfect for EVERYTHING!

My DD8 loved them but they didn't have a girl version for her. My kids lived in shoes like this when they were little but what I am finding is that they don't seem to make these shoes for girls as they get older. In the summer - she wants to wear shoes like this instead of sneakers and I don't blame her.

DD had a pair of Rainbows that she wore down to the bone and I intend to buy her those for her flip flops. They are more than I want to spend but I know she will get the wear out of them.

But that leaves me without a good pair of athletic sandals. Most I find are over $30 - and I am having a hard time with that. It stinks that for $36 - I can get son 4 pairs of awesome shoes and for DD - I will be lucky to get her one for that!!

So does anyone have any ideas?

Payless had some athletic sandals when I was there a few weeks ago.

try to find teva mush from either rei, sierra trading post or amazon. They are great and you can usually get some on clearance for like $12.

My girls have been wearing sandals just like you showed (except in girl colors) for as long as they've been running. But last year they outgrew the toddler sizes, and can't find a similar one anywhere,

Last summer, I ended up buying them a comfy looking leather sandal, but they didn't like those as well, and ended up wearing tennis shoes most of the summer.

Would love to be able to find a similar one to those for this summer again!

I see my DD is right in between yours - I am sorry you can't find them either but it makes me happy to know I am not crazy!!!

Checking on Teva's but right now can only find $35 ones - at that price she might just have to wear the boys

I'm not sure about "athletic" sandals for girls but I know my DD8 lived in Old Navy cheapy flip flops last summer. Can't beat getting them at $2.50 a pair! Mom has some too....
