budget riding mower

Need budget riding mower. Have about 1-1/2 acres to mow each week. When do mowers go on clearance or get the best deals? Any recommendations?

if you have Craig's list in your area I would check on there. We bought a John Deere riding mower for less than half of new. It is a couple years old but in very good condition, runs perfectly. The man we bought it from just moved and it was too big for his yard. I know last fall we also saw one in mid-October at Home Depot that was marked off $300 from full price. HTH!
