We are going to Nashville for the CMA music fest and will be staying at the Embassy Suites. I was hoping I could get some great ideas for food while we're down there. We're on a budget but would also like some good food! Can't wait!!!!

First off, have fun at the CMA Fest, it always looks like so much fun! And there is a great lineup of artists there this year.
I was just down in Nashville for a vacation in March and I ate at a restaurant called Jack's BBQ. It is inexpensive & delicious. It's on Broadway so it is downtown. When I was there that was my favorite place we ate.
Maybe people actually from the area will have more suggestions. :]

I went to CMA last year and hoping to go again this year! It was so much fun!! Look on restaurants.com, they have a few pages of different coupons. Maybe check out Entertainment books as well!

We are from NYC, so maybe that's the reason, but we went to Nashville for the weekend and didn't spend more than $30 max between the 2 of us for dinner/drinks the whole weekend. Everything was sooo inexpensive!

I'd recommend Jack's for BBQ also, try Legends for some good live music, also look at Pancake Pantry for breakfast, Judge Beans for bbq (the best..get the brisket nachos) and enjoy! We did not feel loveless cafe was worth the 2 hour wait we had at the time for breakfast but the biscuits were very good.

There is a Spaghetti Factory right downtown on 2nd Ave not far from where all the action is. Very inexpensive and very good...

Demo's is a wonderful place to eat, right downtown and pretty inexpensive....
have fun at "Fan Fair" (sorry--can't call it cma music fest!)

Demo's was wonderful!!! I can't remember the prices b/c it was so long ago, but my hubby still raves about it!

Also, Cracker Barrel is everywhere and delicious!!

In addition to the Spaghetti Factory, Demo's and the others mentioned, check out Cafe Provence, by the library. You can get great gourmet salads, sandwiches and baked goods.

Also in the downtown Nashville area is the Big River Grille (the same one that you find in Disney's Boardwalk). Prices are better than at Disney ;).

The real Pancake Pantry is in the Hillsboro Village area (not near downtown) and it tends to be very crowded (as in, lines all around the street) at peak times. But it is definitely a Nashville experience and (at times OTHER than the CMA's) you may run into Country Music legends eating there.

If you go to Hillsboro Village to find the Pancake Pantry, you can also check out some of the restaurants that cater to the college students (Hillsboro Village is practically next to Vanderbilt and not far from Belmont University) where you can also save some money.

As for the Loveless Cafe, it is WAY out of town and hardly worth the drive unless you are going to be in the area a while. If you are, then a visit to Cheekwood Gardens (which is on the way) might be fun.

Also, the Grand Old Opry is right next to a huge shopping mall called Opry Mills, and the food in the foodcourt is as reasonable as any other foodcourt. Food at the Opryland Hotel is overpriced, and you also have to figure on parking ($8 I think, per day--maybe more.)

The Embassy Suites gives a great breakfast, so my suggestion would be to fill up on that, get salad and so-forth fixings for a light lunch and/ or supper, and eat one meal at one of the downtown places recommended above.

Enjoy yourselves!:thumbsup2

I live about 25 minutes from downtown Nashville, but most the places I would suggest have already been mentioned. At the top of the list would be Jack's BBQ (that's a must) and Demo's (very reasonable). The Frist Art Museum also has a nice little cafe .
