BUDGET Q for Guests of a Destination Wedding.

If you decide to go, pls share in their happiness and don't hold it against them that you have foregone your vacation, etc. Often times when one doesn't let go of that negativity, it's palatable during the stress of the event - a comment here & there, etc. I say this with the best intentions and am just passing it on from my experiences. :goodvibes
If somone feels that negatively, then just don't go. :confused3 There is no law that you have to go to every destination wedding you are invited. I have passed on a few and just sent the bride and groom a lovely card and gift wishing them well.

Sanibel is a pretty wonderful island beach resort on the west coast of Fl. Lots of accomodations at all ends of spectrum. There are lots of things to do with family : ding darling wildlife centr-birding and nature, shelling on the beach, Edison's home/mseum in Fort meyers. You could turn it into a vacation. You could also explore the west coast of Fl at same time. Not Disney-but great variety , memories, fun...

We HAVE to go to the wedding, it is SIL and though it is her second wedding, its a BIG deal...

Respectfully, no, you don't have to attend. You may really want to attend, may think you should attend, may be concerned that people'll expect you to attend and may be upset with you if you don't . . . but it isn't mandatory.

YEAH, I do have some dresses, but I am one of those that does not re-wear what I have....unless it is something Not recognizable, like say a plain black dress...but since this will be more tropical, I really don't even have anything I can think of off hand....
Again, this is a choice, not a requirement.

I kind of wanna hear how the wedding went, and what OP decided about the trip in August (of 2010)!! OP, are you still around?? How was the wedding?? --Katie
