I booked with Budget because I got a good deal (I thinks its good):)
I then looked and Alamo which was 4 dollars more!

I've heard good things about Alamo so now I'm wondering if I should cancel my budge reservation and go with Alamo.

Please tell me they are both good so I can stop obsessing :rotfl:

Thanks in advance

Both are very good. You can select your own car with Alamo, I believe Budget assigns the car. If you are an Insider member, your additional driver with Alamo is free, that is assuming you have an additonal driver.

If the additional driver is a coworker, spouse, or domestic partner they are also free with Budget. I just copied this from their site:

The following are exempt from the fee but must meet all other driver requirements: the renter's employer or fellow employee when on company business and renting under a corporate account; the renter's spouse or domestic partner; the companion driver of a renter with a disability who has completed the non-licensed renter form; for insurance replacement rentals, company employees or family members who are designated on the insurance policy

I've never used Budget at MCO but I have used them at TPA. I signed up for Fastbreak and went straight to the garage. There was only one person in line, and when I got up to the window, it didn't take more than 2 minutes and I was off with a free upgrade - standard car to standard SUV! All in all, I was satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to use Budget again if they were less expensive. I have no idea how long the lines get at MCO in the garage for Fastbreak service.

That said, I usually use Alamo (or National) at MCO because I can bypass the counter with the kiosk, pick my own car, and go. Even if they're not the cheapest, it's worth it to me! I would only use another company at MCO if the savings were significant.

To answer your question, for $4 - I'd definitely go with Alamo for the convenience if nothing else. If it were $50-100, then I'd go with someone else.

Our experience may be an anomaly, but the only poor rental experience we have had has been with Budget (high mileage, visibly abused SUV that had been smoked in, and the cigarette stench was attempted to be masked with another smell that we can only assume was a deodorizer or cleaner....the vehicle gave our DS an asthma attack every single time we drove somewhere :sad2:). In retrospect, we should have refused the vehicle we were assigned....but the smell was not as apparent at pick up (though admittedly, it was still somewhat noticeable), and got steadily worse as the week went on.

Alamo......zero problems. Used them for every other trip. Love picking the vehicle.

Worst rental car experience of a long career which has involved LOTS of travel was Alamo. It is the only time I have said never again and meant it.

So either of them could have a good or bad day.

(I know National and Alamo are now the same company. I try not to think about that but I still can't bring myself to actually book with Alamo)

I am not giving details on my Alamo experience as it was not in Orlando (and I also know I will be called a liar for posting negatives about the company :) Not worth the fight)
