I am needing a budget hotel for the day before we check into Disney in September. It doesn't need to be anything great but a free breakfast and a pool would be great. Anyone know of anything close to Disney that is reasonable and clean.

Look for a 2.5-3 star hotel on Hotwire or Travelocity secret hotels and you will likely get something pretty decent for like $35-$60.I usually stick to Lake Buena vista/ International Drive south/Sea World/Convention center areas. For Hotwire you can click on free breakfast so only hotels with free breakfast pop up,in Travelocity secret hotels it should tell you in the hotels amenities.I know many people like to know exactly what hotel they're getting before they book, but I've probably saved hundreds if not thousands in the last 10 years or so using this strategy,I've gotten $200 hotels for $55 and I've also gotten borderline decent places so you kinda have to chance it but I've never gotten a horrible place sticking to 2.5-3 stars.

After staying onsite for the last 3 years at All Star Movies or Music, (and spending $100 a night for what is basically a standard hotel room with Disney blankets and decor) this year I went with this approach and found a room for $51 a night (including fees) at the Monumental Movieland Hotel which is right next to Universal's Wet 'N Wild on International Drive. Saved myself over $340 for the week.

How was the Monumental?

I always stay at The Magic Castle out on 192. It's not too far from Disney, and has free continental breakfast and a pool. I go every year and we always stay here. It's only around $39 per night and has a microwave, refrigerator, and free WiFi in each room. It's nothing fancy, but it is clean and bug free. I'd rather save on the sleeping arrangements (as long as there are no critters)LOL , and spend all my money IN the parks. :rotfl:
