Hi!,

We are planning to visit orlando at the end of may and have been looking for a budget hotel / motel for under $35.

Any suggestions of somewhere clean and comfortable for a 2 week stay? We won't be staying in the accomodation that much, so I am not looking for anything fancy, just somewhere nice to sleep. I would like to stay somewhere on the 192, pref near to Old Town, but would like advice on any good budget hotels throughout the WDW region.

Best I have come up with so far is the Clarion Maingate for $31.98 p/n (special pay for 3 nights get 1 free).

All suggestions welcome!!

Dave

Are you willing to do Priceline? Many people have had success with getting Rennaisance WorldGate for about $35 on there. It's in the 3 star group. Most rooms have 2 doubles, a fridge, coffemaker and there is a restaurant and a deli.

Check out www.biddingfortravel.com for good info on using Priceline.

many of us have booked 2 bedroom condos on skyauction.com for a total of about $250 for the week. That includes all fees and taxes, and comes out to about $35 per night. These are the 'ready, set, go' auctions.

that way you can eat breakfast in the condo if you want.

I have also seen the courtyard by marriot mentioned on here for $20(but I don't know what dates that is good for). I think you can find that on mousesavers.

I have stayed at the Clarion Maingate twice although it was in 1995 and 1996, so a while ago.

We found the accomodation to be clean and comfortable with plenty of places to eat next to the hotel.

I would certainly consider it again

In the past we have stayed at the "Howard Johnson Maingate West" and would reccomend this property as it was clean, quiet, and very pleasant. The last time I checked their website www.orlandohojomaingate.com , they were running $29 a night specials for certain time periods (don't know if they're still available). Also, I would visit www.floridakiss.com which has many hotel listings for the entire 192 resort area at great prices. Hope this helps.

My last trip was an extended length of stay trip. I found out about the biddingfortravel.com site and studied it before finally bidding on Priceline. You have to be willing to accept any hotel that comes up in the level/area you are bidding on. I recently read a review on this site where someone got a one star in Kississimme for $17 per night. Do your research and read the reviews that are posted next to the hotel links on the bidding site. I won the Renaissance World Gate for my entire length of stay and found the property acceptable for my bid. However, I read a review of someone who recently stayed there when a convention was using the property and everything was closed (pool, hot tub, tennis court) except for the convention crowd that was there. It can be hit and miss.

I just got the Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort for $29 per night on Hotwire. It seems to be coming up for $25 or $26 on priceline. However, Hotwire lets you see the amenities first & when I saw the resort icon, I knew it was BW. There is also a $7 per night charge for local phone calls, shuttle service, ect. But I am very happy with the price & can't wait to actually stay ina a resort. We have always stayed in Kissimmee & this will be a treat.

Here's the link if you'd like to see the hotel.

Good luck!

I'll say this again Rodeway Inn Maingate East.:)
internet special $26.95 per night. It on "92" near watermania. I booked 2 rooms for August. Total cost for 12 nights....$790. that with tax and fees. Less than $400 for 2 weeks for a nice room and area is great to me.:D :D :D :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I would do Priceline or Hotwire..nicer hotels for the same price as budget ones.
