Hope all you budding DVC golfers might be able to help me out. We're bringing my parents with us to OKW in November. This will be not only their first time at Disney but also first time in America (we are from the UK). We obviously want them to have a great time and enjoy Disney/America as much as we do.

My Dad and I are keen golfers and we plan to play 4/5 times whilst we're out there. Hopefully without sounding like a cheapskate I was hoping to find some reasonably priced golf courses within, say, 45 mins from Disney. I have found green fees for $35-$40 in the past normally through vouchers in Orlando papers. Has anyone got some tried and tested suggestions or a link to a website that gives names, fees, addresses, etc? As I said, I'm prepared to drive away from Disney to avoid the tourist prices.

Thanks for any help.

I'm a golf nut as well so I've been looking into some golfing deals for my trip in April-05 and here is what I've found so far.

During off-season, and I believe November is, Disney discounts their green fees significantly so you might call one of the Disney proshops and find out if there are any restrictions.

If that fails, you might consider buying a Disney discount card. It will cost you $85.00 but you get reduced green fees. If you are planning to play 4/5 times, it might be worth it.

Another option is tee time sites on the internet. EZLINKS is one that comes to mind. They offer DEEP discounts in and around Orlando. Go to EZLINKS, click on TEE TIME SPECIALS and check for Orlando courses. Ritz-Carlton course near SeaWorld was being offered for about $45.00 last week.

Hi, you are right, the farther from Disney, the more the price will drop.

No question the best deals for golf are auctions. I use them all the time and they are for real.

If you would like to nail down 2 or 3 courses for a great price for two of you go to www.ibidusa.com Register and give them your credit card.

Then go to "central Florida auctions" and then to "sports and adventure." Here you will find 6 to 8 golf courses that come up a lot. The auction will say for "2" or "4" golfers. Sounds like it just you and your dad. The EZ links is great but always for 4 golfers, as I recall.

Once you are into Sports and Adventure the golf courses that are very good deals are Kings Ridge, Legends, Black Bear, and Deer Island. These auctions are good for 6 months. Be sure to check and make sure if there are time restraints. Some may be weekends or after 10 AM..You can literally play very nice, (not top of the line,) golf for under 20 per person including cart.
Now, Deer Island is beautiful but a 60 minute drive from Disney. Black Bear is about 60 minutes. Legends is 20 to 25 and Kings Ridge 20 to 25 minutes.

This is the absolute best deal. November golf is still less expensive everywhere in the area. Also check the papers for coupons...good luck...

Good Luck and let me know if you have questions....Ted

Thanks very much for your help guys. I will give both routes a try.
