I'm not sure how old your kids are, but we have had great luck staying all-inclusive where kids stay free. You only have to pay for their airfare. We just got back a few days ago from Riu Jalisco in Nuevo Vallarta which is about 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. The resort was beautiful and we would return in a heartbeat.

We booked through cheapcaribbean.com and had no problems at all. They ended up being a lot cheaper than apple vacations. I went to all the travel sites like apple, funjet, travelocity, orbitz, expedia, etc. and they had the best price.

Family of 3 - we paid $2185 for 7 nights, direct flights out of Chicago, all taxes, transfers, etc. I thought that was a great price for 7 nights, all inclusive. This place had a liquor dispenser in your room, stocked fridge with water, soda, and beer. Food was available 24 hours a day.

Again, kids stay free saves you a lot of $$$$.

We went to Holiday Inn Sunspree in Jamaica last year for $1800. Riu Jalisco was a lot nicer and worth the extra $400 we paid.

My kids are 7 & 9. I've never been to an All Inclusive before.

We too go to different Iberostar properties each year, and we absolutely love them! Our favorite is the Iberostar Lindo/ Maya only 30 minutes south of Cancun.
