budget car rental "grace period"

I was booking our car from the cruise to the airport---we are staying one night after the cruise---and noticed the rate was lots higher if I chose to pick up the car at 8:30 am on a Thur. and return it at 12 noon on the Fri. I suppose it's a 24 hour rental so those times pushed it to a 2 day rental. I ended up booking with a p.u. time of 9:30 a.m. and drop off at the airport at 10:30 am. If we are a little early picking up or late droping off, will they charge for the extra day? TIA

THey should only charge you for the extra hour you exceed your one day rental. I believe the whole day charges don't start until you are at least 3 hours past the scheduled return.

grace period is 1 hour. book your rental for the 24 hr day. change the pick up time for 30 minutes later and you will be alright
