Budget Car Rental at MCO

I reserved my car through Costco. When I returned the car at Budget MCO airport I was given a receipt about $30 more then what Costco quoted me. I have always paid what Costco quoted at other locations that I rented. When I got home I called Budget and they immediately credited me back the difference. They said I was double charged the taxes but that still didn't add up. I didn't really care as long as I got back my money. Just be sure to check your receipt to what you were quoted.

If you are a Fastbreak member, you may get an add-on charge if you have an airline rewards program associated to it.

The last 3 times I have rented, I had to challenge the amount that came up when I turned it in, and in each case the real issue was fuel.

I turned down the pre-paid fuel and filled the tank myself close to the airport, but the companies have all recently gone to a wi-fi system that uses a scanner from outside the car to process it back in. I was informed that when the check-in is done only by scan, if the car's sensors report the tank as much as 1/10th of a gallon short of true Full, you will be counted as not having filled the tank, and charged accordingly. If you did not keep the receipt from the gas refill, then the only way to get past this is to insist that they get in, start the car, and visually verify that the tank is indeed full, so you have to question the amount BEFORE a tech gets in the car and drives it away to be cleaned.

I was also afraid of the fuel issue. I made sure he saw the full tank. I probably said it a few times as well. My receipt had full for fuel and no extra charge for being an airline member. It was weird the email receipt match Costco but the print out they give you was higher. I waited to it posted to my credit card hoping it would work out but it didn’t. The call fixed it but I was ready with fuel receipt as well but didn’t need it.
