Budget buster - Verizon iPhone finally coming

This is going to be a budget buster for me, since I've been waiting FOREVER for the iPhone to come to the Verizon network. According to the article, it is now confirmed that it will be released in the first quarter of 2011.

I hope it's true! I'm planning on getting the new generation Touch for Christmas (have first generation now). Would having both the touch and iPhone be overkill? I don't think I would use the phone as my ipod though (to listen to music with) AND I would probably get the smallest gb phone. I wonder if my Verizon upgrade credit can be used towards the iPhone?

I think both would be overkill. They say that the newest Touch is exactly like the iPhone...minus the phone part.

I wonder if this can be true... one of the BEST things (to me) about my iphone is that I can use data and still get a call at the same time, because of their dual networking thing on AT&T (I don't exactly understand it all). From what I understand, no other cell network has that capability and I certainly wouldn't want to lose that function, but on Verizon, I don't think that could work.
