All we really need is the Wii console itself -- do you know of any good deals or any that may be coming up soon?

TIA!

Did you contact their customer service? Ours broke and I got a new one for free...and it was more than a year old. Go to their website and go through the support menu.

Thanks -- definitely worth a try. Honestly it never seemed to work right (always hummed whenever a game was in). I'll contact them before making any purchases!

Have you had a power outtage recently?

If so it usually just requires unplugging and plugging everything in a certain order (as hubby found out from their customer service when we thought ours was dead). We also found out that it has a built in surge protector so you shouldn't plug it into one also.

If not I hope they can help you fix it or replace it.

Their customer service was very helpful when we have called in the past.

If you aren't able to get it replaced, then I'd recommend visiting GameStop. A used Wii console (and I think one remote is included) is about $99.

Ours died b/c DS played Brawl on it; there was something wrong with the original Brawl discs that caused the units to fail. We sent the Wii in and they replaced it at n/c, and also sent us a replacement disk for the game so that it wouldn't happen again.

If none of the above happens, you might check ebay. My daughter got one last week for $129 and that included two games and it was brand new in the box by a mega seller. They had lots of listings for new Wii consoles. Might be worth a look. Good luck!

If you live near a Meijer, tomorrow is Meijer credit card day. The total purchase is 15% off, that's how we bought our Wii unit.

Nintendo fixed our Wii for free because of the Brawl issue. However, before I knew that there was a problem with that game, I contacted customer service and it was supposed to be $75.00 to fix it, but without asking they offered a discount to fix it for $50.00. I would definitely call customer service.

Ours does the same thing and I never thought that was right! We have friends that have a Wii and theirs has never hummed like ours does. Unfortunately it seems to be just limping along lately...maybe I will give them a call as well. Glad I opened and read this...thanks for the help. Hopefully we can both get ours fixed...:thumbsup2

Ours broke too. No brawl issue but we are going to go the gamestop route. We don't need the games either.
