Anyone have a suggestion for peanut free treats? My dd is turning 10 in a few weeks and I need something to send to school. Obviously looking for something sweet but budget friendly. Also, it cannot be homemade as our school has a policy against homemade treats! TIA for any help!

I always send rice crispy treats because they seem safest and yet still taste good.

Fruit Roll Ups, Fruit by the foot. You can also clip the boxtops for the class.

Maybe you can get skittles or individual packs of gummi bears now that the halloween candy is out.

Those would be ok if candy is allowed as a treat etc.

Hope you dd has a very happy birthday.

Rice Krispy Treats if you're looking for something edible. Or, cool pencils/pens/markers or something. I know my students are getting to the point where their beginning of the school year stash of pencils/pens are starting to get used up/lost. :)

Enjoy Life sugar cookies are always a big hit in my DD and DS's class.

I wouldn't consider these budget friendly for an entire class. We buy ELF products and even for my DS that has multiple allergies, they are expensive.

Oreos are safe and yummy...there are several different kinds now. You can also get individual bags of them, even at Aldi's.

If the teacher's lounge has a refrigerator then Popsicles are good and good for the budget but still a treat. If you get the bomb pop ones then they are all alike and no problems with kids getting diff flavors. Or if you can drop them off right when they are going to be eaten.

How about munchkins from Dunkin Donuts? They are a big hit with the kids ! Good luck!

This PA mom thanks you for looking out for the allergy kid! DS eats rice krispy treat and oreos both. Non food treats are great if it's not for a snack.

I'm pretty sure dd is NOT safe for anyone with a nut allergy. My BFF's oldest has a nut allergy and my friend has mentioned how she misses dd.

If Oreos are really ok, one package would probably cover you!

They're $3.50 a box on my side of the state. Maybe my view of budget treats has been skewed from buying gluten free stuff for so long. To me $3.50 for 14 big cookies is a bargain! :lmao:

They can't be that big! that whole box is only slightly over 6 ounces. I have a pack of reg. sugar cookies here with 10 in the box and it is 13 ounces and they aren't huge just normal size. So you would have to give each kid a few cookies and that would add up very quickly.

So 4 boxes would be $14 not exactly budget. Yeah your view is skewed.

This NJ mom with the gluten free kid says go for the ice pops! ;) FYI, regular rice krispies (and packaged rice krispy treats) are not gluten free.

I have a peanut allergic kid and always send in Rice Krispie Treats for the birthday celebration.

My son has a severe PA (among others) and when it's his birthday I send in Dunkin Donut munchkins for the class. Oreos are also good but I send in a "safe" snack box for him throughout the year with special treats for him when there is another childs party in class. Most of the time the kids want his snack over the the party snack anyway! :)

Skeetersnacks are great cookies. Costco has a box of 24 packs of 2 for $10. It's marked on the box that they are peanut/treenut safe.

OP here...thanks for all the replies! Believe it or not my dd does not like rice krispy treats!!! Maybe I'll go with the Oreos. I wish I could make cupcakes because it would be less expensive and dd would love them!
