I've got quotes from both Budget and Enterprise for a January rental. The costs are pretty close ($6 more total for Budget), and Budget is in the airport. Normally this would seem clear - go with Budget. However, the Unofficial Guide (2006) gives Enterprise significantly better ratings. Has anyone had any experience that would let them compare these two? Is the in-airport rental signifcantly easier?

I'm sure this is the type of question that gets asked all the time, but I didn't find anything in the past several pages. Thanks for any advice.

I've rented from Budget at MCO and had no issues using them.

I've rented from both Budget and Enterprise in New Jersey, and prefer Budget's cars due to cleanliness and lower mileage.

I personally would go with Budget, because it's so much easier to rent from the Airport & even easier to drop it off when you return it. That's why my family & I always rent from Avis at MCO in Orlando & TPA in Tampa.

Editing to add that the Unofficial Gude rental car ratings are not best as they claim to be. After reading their guide they said National Rent A Car had the best overall service & etc, however the 2 times we rented from them at MCO we had problems with them. Their staff was very rude & did not want to help that much. So I caution you on a ranting by the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.

I recommend budget and joining their Fastbreak program. It is free and you can bypass the counter in the airport and quickly stop at the kiosk in the garage to get your keys. I cannot stand waiting in line at MCO and will pay a bit more just so I can go right to the car.

I have used Budget several times and always been pleased. And as pirateparrot said, sign up for their Fastbreak program. You can bypass the counter and go straight to the garage to pick up your car. I love that! :thumbsup2
