So we can bring back on board a 6 pack for each adult, but where in cozumel can we get bud light?
Last time, we ran late and couldn't find any near the port shops....does anyone know for sure?
Sorry, but we like to enjoy one or two at the end of the night and want to save the money for an excurision!
Thanks!

For the love of what's holy in life, why would you want to get Bud light when in Mexico?
I mean, I get the mantra of 'to each his/her own' but this is sacrilege.
Anyway, you want to go to the "Mega" store across from the port. Literally just go out of the port area, cross the street and it's about 200 yards walking.
Yes, there will be Bud light there, but I strongly suggest you buy Mexican beer. At least try it, it's so good. I recommend: Indio (my favorite), Victoria, Pacifico, Leon. Life's too short to drink lesser beer.

Oh my, you are so correct....but I have a brother that doesn't get it!!!! My husband and son always get the mexican beer, but this one whined so much last time about it, I just want to fix it!!!
Thank you so much!

The first thing my wife and I do when we get off the boat in Cozumel is go to MEGA and pick up beer. This last trip we were with friends. We picked up all different kinds of beer we can't get home and my friend picked up Michelob Ultra. That is what he likes and that is fine. When we were at MEGA we could not check out with the beer till 10:30 am. This was something new because in the past we never had to wait. When we go to the Cayman Islands we go to Cay Brew. They are a brewery that has a tap room. They also have six packs of beer to bring back to the ship.

Yes - Mega is the place. It is a 10 - 15 minute walk depending on your pace. It is also a great place to grab bottle water, snacks, sun screen, etc... It's the W-Mart of Mexico. You can also buy wine and liquors too.

If you are adventurous in Grand Cayman - grab a taxi to CayBrew. They make great beer and have a couple very good light beers you may enjoy. It will cost you about $25 plus tip to get there (just tell them to go past the airport so they don't take you on an island tour) and Caybrew will call you a cab to get back to the port. It is about a 20-30 minute ride.

I know some people that are risk averse when it comes to beer, so I sympathize.

I was looking at the caybrew idea for the men, while us moms and kids go to the 7mile beach--so thank you so much for suggesting that! Good to know it is worth it and the tip not to do island tour!

If it helps - we had a small thread going about the brewery; here is a link: Cayman Island Brewery thread It also has a link to another craft beer drinkers thread.

Caybrew offers a wrist band for $10 - you get 5 six ounce samples, and a brewery tour. They actually just opened a brand new taproom. DH and I missed it by 1 month.

Sorry if I came across as too crass, and thanks for taking it lightly.
My favorite beer in the entire universe is an Australian beer called XXXX Gold, I miss it so much I almost cry thinking about it. A lot of people in AUS consider that beer worse than camel pee. So who am I to criticize people's choices.
Let your brother drink whatever he wants.
Cheers.

Tell your husband and son next time they go to Mega to check out the Russian and Czech (and others from that general area) beers too. DH and I just buy the individual bottles and look for ones we have never seen. I normally like darker beers and ales, and we have found some very tasty ones but we have also found some of the most amazing pilsners and lagers from Mega.

Oh you didn't come across crass, just funny! I am flexible with some items, and I just trying to keep everyone stress free! LOL
Oh, and to keep them away from Senior Frogs, that has never ended well for our crew! The stories about that are nightmares, not funny!
