Bucket List for Mom w/Stage 4 Cancer-UPDATE #267

Thank you all for the prayers & well wishes :goodvibes I'm always pleasantly surprised at how sweet & caring you dissers are. Thank you :cloud9: I had to pick up the death certificates today, so that was no fun. :sad2: But, at least we can get all of the "paperwork" started & out of the way.

We are going to re-do my DD9 bedroom so she'll move back into it. She says she can't bare to sleep in there like it is, b/c it makes her miss her Mimi too much. (DD moved into DS7 room back in November, so Mom could have DD room.) Anyway, we'd like to paint the walls & get new bedding. We had just bought new furniture so Mom would have lots of drawer space. So, we'll keep the same furniture, just new comforter, accessories & such.

My 2 brothers, sister, & my little family are planning a Monterey, CA trip for next summer. It will be bittersweet for sure. :guilty: I can't wait to share the beautiful area to my DH & kids, but I know it's going to be hard to walk Mom's last steps again. We may drive, so we can go to Disneyland, Yosemite, then drive up the coastal hwy to Monterey. :thumbsup2

I still need to take the time to post pictures! Sorry---I will work on that ;)

I just found this thread tonight and I just wanted to add myself to the list of people who is thinking about your family.

WOW!! Thank you for all of your prayers and sweet words. This has been a hard couple of days, but I rest on the assurance that I will see my Mom again. It makes my heart smile to read how my Mom's legacy has inspired you! I know that's why she was taken so soon. She achieved all she was sent here to do, and now she's changing & inspiring people through her death.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, Angela.

Your mom lives on, as her faith and yours, both continue to shine. Its also heartening to see so many dissers here who love and celebrate our wonderful Saviour too.

May you be comforted by your memories, and also knowing you'll be together again one day. Blessings to you!

Thank you for sharing your story. You and your Mom's courage and faith will live on in the hearts of the people you have touched. May God be glorified in all things.:grouphug:

My beautiful Mom & me....her hair grew back, even during chemo! It was a relief that she didn't have to wear a wig in that brisk wind :) She felt WONDERFUL on this day--July 21st. It wasn't until the next day (at the Aquarium) that she started feeling weak.

We saw anywhere from 50-100 blue & humpback whales. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the body differences to tell you which is which. We never had any breach. They just rounded their backs, flipped their tails, & "blew." I had SO many pictures that I deleted 400 of them that night in the hotel!

We bought a 2 day Aquarium ticket from La Quinta (where we stayed the first 2 nights in Monterey) It's 2 days for the price of one. So, we got to break it up & didn't have to spend the WHOLE day there.

Spotted Jellies...yikes!
IMG_2204.jpg

This is the STRANGEST, creepiest thing you will ever see...it's called a "Mermaid's Purse" or Egg Case for Skates. You have to look these things up & watch a video or something. They are UNreal!

Our favorite part of the Monterey Bay Aquarium...the seahorse exibit! Amazing!!!

The GORGEOUS view from our room at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa (we could only afford this ONE night!) LOL!

The Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach--breathtaking! Look how the clouds cleared enough to let the sun highlight the mountain.

Here is a shot of the 18th hole at Pebble Beach. My DH was soooo jealous when he saw this!

Next we traveled to San Francisco. We arrived on July 23rd & Mom just wanted to stay in our room & rest. We took the SF City tour on July 24th. Below is a pic of the Golden Gate Bridge. Mom was feeling too weak to get off of the bus.

Here's one of the only pictures I got of Mom on the Golden Gate Bridge. Notice she's holding her liver-area. And notice that big, beautiful smile on her face!

Alcatraz...this was on Sunday, July 25th. Mom wasn't able to walk around much, but she refused to miss out!

These two workers were PRECIOUS & went out of their way to make sure Mom had everything she needed. THANK YOU BREA & PAC!!!! (Sorry if I misspelled your name Pac--you were wonderful!)

You are an amazing person and it is so awesome that you were able to help your Mom live her dream!! She has a beautiful smile, as do you!

Mom had wanted to see "WICKED" forever & we went on our last night in California. Yes, I caught her sleeping several times, but she still enjoyed the evening!

:hug:Adding my prayers for your family, I lost Dad to cancer, mom to congestive heart failure young, and then my older dd shortly after a Disney trip, she just loved disney,

I miss my loved ones dearly, and still ache and cry. It took two years before I stopped thinking in terms or her still being with me.

It was so wonderful to have the precious memories and now in life create some new ones.

Oh my!!! :grouphug: I'm so very sorry for your struggles! I just don't know what to say. I'm so thankful I'll get to see my loved ones again one day. That's the only thing that's keeping me sane right now--God's Promise that, because of my faith in Him, that I will get to meet up with my loved ones again. I pray you find joy in each & every day you've been given. :goodvibes

I've been reading your story and am so sorry for your loss.
I just had to say, WHAT A FABULOUS PHOTO!!! You look just like her and you can feel the love in that photo. :lovestruc

Your pictures were amazing. It was certainly an unforgettable trip. I love the picture of you and your mom. You both look beautiful. That's definitely a picture to treasure.

As always, I continue to have you in my prayers. :littleangel:

Thank you for sharing your pictures, you both are so very beautiful. I am glad she had such a wonderful time, they are some of the most precious memories you will ever have.

You and your mom are beautiful!
I never would have guessed she was sick. What a strong woman.

What beautiful pictues! Thank you for sharing them. I'm glad you and your mom got to see the whales together and I'm also glad that she isn't suffering any longer.

Thank you for such sweet words! She was only 4'10-1/2" so she said she was gonna be tall & skinny in Heaven!! :rotfl: She was absolutely beautiful. Back when Mom wore her wig, you couldn't even tell she had cancer (unless you knew her & knew that she had it.) People would be in SHOCK when they found out she had stage 4 cancer!!

She never wanted any special attention, and only wanted to tell people about her diagnosis when she could use that information to spread her love for Jesus & how He was working in her life. :lovestruc She was an awesome lady & I miss her so much.
