Hello,

DD rode Splash Mtn and was fine..(just really po'd she got wet..:rotfl: ). I have been to WDW three times in my life:

1) 1980-something: they were building it
2) 1991-92: refurb
3) Octobr 2007: refurb.

I am going in december to ride it no matter what...but should I take her along?

tks,

Only you know your DD. My DD would have rode it at 3 1/2, unfortunately for her, she's a peanut and during our last trip in June when she was 3 1/2, she was only 37". Boy was she ticked, when the CM shook his head at her and said, not this year, princess. :rotfl:

My DS though has always been a big boy and he actually rode it at 2 1/2. He's not a huge daredevil either, but at 9 yo its still one of his favorites at the MK.

My daughter is 3.5yo and we leave for DL on Saturday and I plan to take her on it. I think she'll like it a lot since Goofy's Barnstormer is one of her favorite rides. She's just now 40 inches so Barnstormer is as wild as it's been for her, but she loves it. Her only apprehension with BTMRR is that since it has the word "thunder" in the name, she thinks there will be thunder on the ride and she is not a fan of thunder at all. I plan on leaving that part of the name out when it's actually time to ride and I think she'll be fine.

BTMRR is one of my favorite rides. My boys love it too.

I was glad that I chose not to take my DD on it last month. She just turned 4. It is quite a jerky ride and I was not sure she would like it. I know my oldest son has a hard time keeping himself steady on it. He is a skinny little guy. He prefers to ride with me. My middle son is a little more solid and quite the dare devil so he could care less if he gets tossed around a little..lol. My DD was fine on Splash, Soarin and Goofy's rollercoaster. We skipped BTMMR and Test Track this year with her. We are looking forward to sharing those with her next year.

All kids are different. Maybe you can ride it once to kind of refresh your memory and then decide if you think your DD can handle it. Worse case, she hates it and you don't take her back on. Best case, of course, she becomes a fan like me. ;)

Have a great trip!!

My ds was tall enough when he was three to ride BTMRR. He loves it. Unfortunately it was closed for refurb on our last trip (just got back 2-1/2 weeks ago)...but good news for you, since that means it should be open and running when you're there!:) DH and I are not super skinny, just average size, and ds could fit between us in the car, so he didn't get jostled around too much. You do have to watch it though because going around those curves and make you slide to one side of the ride vehicle and squish the poor little one in between. :crowded: It's a fun ride though, and ds really loved it at that age. If you want, try out Goofy's Barnstormer in Toon Town first. That's a super short kid coaster and can give you and idea of how your 3yr old will handle a bigger one.

We just returned from a week at the world (10/20-27) and it opened back up on Thursday. My DD is 44 1/2 inches and she loved it.

We thought she would as she is a wild child and loves smaller coasters. She rode Goofy's Barnstormer several times and loved it, so we thought it would be okay for BTMRR.

The only part she didn't like the first time was the dark portion through the tunnel. After the first time it was a piece of cake.

Like the others say, only you can truly judge what your child can handle.
