I would love to book a couple of late breakfast/brunch reservations for myself, DD 21 and DS 19 for our trip in August. We will likely be up early to take advantage of EE and then book breakfast for 11am or so. What are your suggestions for DL, DCA and DTD?

So far I am considering Lamplight Lounge, Storyteller's (which I see isn't offering reservations for late August) and Plaza Inn. What else would you suggest? Good to high quality food is a must.

I had brunch at Storyteller's in January and found the food to be pretty good quality for a buffet and would gladly go again, however it would be fun to see other characters.

Thanks everyone!

Food wise Storytellers is the best, IMO, not close.

Plaza Inn is kind of interesting, it’s been awhile since I’ve been there but it felt like there were a lot of characters there (it felt like there were more than other places but not sure if that is actually true), and there were “unusual” characters like Rafiki, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, etc, which could be good or bad depending on your perspective, though it’s been several years since I’ve been. The interactions there seemed a lot more off the cuff as well which I thought was good, I don’t know if that is typical or not. Hook was pretty funny, he kept messing around with my FIL.

Goofys kitchen I’ve been to before they rearranged the characters. The food was Standard Breakfast Buffet (TM) quality. It was fine, but basically exactly what you would expect a breakfast buffet to be.

I’ve only been to those 3, other than the Ariel one which of course no longer exists.

ETA: the only one we routinely book now on our trips is Storytellers. Plaza Inn I would consider if interested in more characters, but my kids aren’t into them as much lately.

Thank you! I am more interested in Plaza Inn for the characters and was expecting the food quality to be less than Storyteller's, which seems was your experience too. We aren't super interested in characters (ie. lining up for them) but passive interactions at a brunch would be fun.

Lamplight Lounge is probably the most popular on your list of options. I also think you will find Lamplight has the most unique food dishes and higher quality. Also in August you could maybe get a table outside on the water which is a very nice atmosphere to eat in.

Plaza and Storytellers are more run of the mill food options; however, it does have the option of having characters if that is important.

We did the Lamplight Lounge brunch this past weekend and won’t be doing it again. The food options are limited and quality wasn’t great. The drink menu is extensive however if that is a priority. We were seated next to the water which was pleasant, but service was also lacking.

I’d personally stick with Storytellers or give Great Maple a try since characters aren’t a priority.

Thank you for this. I'm sorry to hear your experience at Lamplight was less than stellar. I may do Storyteller's again if/when they open reservations. I looked at the menu for Great Maple and I didn't see anything that spoke to me, but I really appreciate your suggestion.

We loved our breakfast at Minnie's at Plaza Inn last time. Great characters and yummy food.

River Belle Terrace has brunch now and it looks great. No characters, but it's such a nice part of the park to sit out on the patio and people watch.

We love brunch at Lamplight and have always found the service to be excellent.

You could also just do early lunch at Carthay Circle al fresco if you want something nice. For DTD just do early lunch at Din Tai Fung if you've never eaten there before!

Thank you both! I have booked Plaza Inn for a character breakfast, Lamplight Lounge for brunch, and Craftsman Bar for breakfast. I may also book Riverbelle Terrace for a brunch as I like that it offers both breakfast and lunch items on the menu. I just need to see which day I can fit that into.

Carthay Circle al fresco is on my list for a late lunch too!

If you are interested in seeing Fantasmic. Look at the River Belle Terrace Fantasmic dining packages. They are available for both brunch and dinner.

Good suggestion! We have already booked Blue Bayou dinner for the Fantasmic package since I love eating there on each trip.

Lamplight Lounge has a great brunch, but the reservations fill up pretty quickly.
We recently had brunch at the Great Maple restaurant inside the new Pixar Place Hotel. That place is amazing! The service and the food were great, highly recommend!
