Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

You asked about weekend plans?

Lots of :laundy: then packing our cases for next week's trip to Disneyland Paris

If I can figure out how to post photos I'll share some when we get back.

Hi MeMom! I did get your message and am about to add your numbers into my phonebook. Question: do either you or Jill text? (we have verizon with some texts for out of network)

As far as camera's go, I have a dSLR thats an Olympus that I love, but Patrick and I recently each got Sony Cybershot H10s (the one's before Megablocks). I like these as much if not more then my dSLR. They have the same resolution, megazoom, shoot video, and are more portable. But I wouldn't get rid of my dSLR for anything.

And for weekend plans, tonight is a pizza and movie night at home with the cat. Then tomorrow is some shopping, possibly a beer tasting, and Toy Story, and Sunday is laundry, homework, more shopping, and starting to get suitcases ready for a week from Tuesday!:banana::banana:

We are planning on going to see Toy Story in 3D. We are going to go see Disney On Ice when it comes in March. The one coming here is 100 Years of Magic.

You're going to love getting that Disney fix in March! :goodvibes Are you planning to see The Princess and the Frog, too?

You don't have very long! :dance3:

Hope you have fun at Disney on Ice tomorrow! B/F and I might go see Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D this weekend.

No, we don't. :)

I'm sure we will have fun. A teacher friend of mine went last night, and she said it was great!

Have fun at Toy Story. You should go eat pizza afterward and pretend you're at Pizza Planet. ;)

Great update MeMom :thumbsup2 I love the picture of the band in Morocco and also the balloon picture , sooo pretty ! The Animation Studio pictures are great , can you believe that we have been 4 years in a row and have never been in there ? It's a must do for our next trip , seems like there is so much to see and do in there .

I can relate to the camera delima . This summer my Cannon SLR broke and they want a lot of money to fix it so I just went out and bought a Nikon Cool Pix to hold me over until I can afford to fix my Cannon SLR . Well needless to say I miss my SLR like crazy , the Nikon's picture quality does not impress me at all :( I would have to say SLR all the way !

A lot of people think the little movie is stupid, but we've seen it a few times, and I think it is cute.

I can't decide what to do. As horrible as I am, I just need a little cheap pocket camera, because I really don't know what to do with all the fancy settings, but I sure would like something that could get clear, clear pictures of whatever I shoot.

Good luck finding a camera! My dad got a Nikon D60 last year and he loves it. My old camera died and I finally got a Sony Cybershot a few weeks ago -- I LOVE it. All of the pictures on my FB in the Fall '09 album were taken with it. If you want any more input about it, or my dad's take on the Nikon, feel free to PM me. :goodvibes

I hope you have an amazing time at Disney on Ice! I can't believe that you guys and Katie are going to Disney so soon. We're 130 days away, so in a month, we'll be in the double digits! :hyper:

See, you are just adding problems, troublemaker! Now I have to go do research on those!

I think I am going to run back up to Wolf and see what they have again.

:banana::banana: I'm completely ready for another trip taken vicariously through a darling family! We just decided to go for our Anniversary in December, so the Disney-itis is rampant at our house!

In the meantime, we'll be celebrating our nephew's second birthday this weekend. Sadly, his party is Thomas the Train themed.....he hasn't been properly introduced to Disney yet. We're working on it.

Yay for a newly booked trip!

Have fun at your party. I bet the two year old is such a cutie that we'll forgive his lack of Disney love. :)

I'm doing very well....THANKS! :goodvibes

You do....and I love it!! They are all VERY cute kiddos! I would go for maybe adding the Italian next , they can cook some AWESOME food!!

Glad you got a camera and have a wonderful time at D. on Ice. I went last night and it was VERY cute!! :thumbsup2

AWESOME PICTURE!!! :thumbsup2

An Italian it is.
Do you know any homeless Italians?

You asked about weekend plans?

Lots of :laundy: then packing our cases for next week's trip to Disneyland Paris

If I can figure out how to post photos I'll share some when we get back.

I've done laundry three nights in a row. Tonight is time to give the washer a break at my house.

Disneyland Paris - that's cool, and we will absolutely need pictures!

Memom,
I think as much as you enjoy taking pictures and we enjoy looking at them, you should go ahead and get the camera you really want!! So just take what you would have spent on a couple of character meals on your trip in two weeks and order a couple of pizzas at POP or counter service somewhere and that will pay for the difference (especially if you're paying for everyone). You could easily shave $200 off your trip somewhere and make up the difference! You were already planning to spend that money. I've found good prices for cameras on Amazon in the past - maybe you can find it for less than you could locally.

Good luck finding the camera that you want! I need a new one badly but other things keep coming first when it comes to money.

Tomorrow I'll be working and Sunday I NEED to spend allllll day doing homework, except for when I break to watch the Giants game. I hope that your weekend is better than mine sounds like it will be! :headache:

Great DHS update!! I'm hoping to finally get to see Fantasmic in Jan! I can't wait to see any pics you took and hear all about it!

I hope you guys have a fabulous time at Disney on Ice this weekend!!! Nothing good going on around here! Just normal weekend stuff!!

I made the leap to DSLR last year. The biggest differences I have found between it and my point and shoot is in low light situations and how quickly you can take the next picture. I could make a flip book out of all the pictures I got of the tumble monkeys in the Lion King show.

Yep, we text, so if that works better for you after CRT, you can do that.

What's tonight's movie?

Suitcases? Suitcases indicate travel of some kind. :)

I don't often do that, but this could be a case where I need to.

Enjoy your Giants game. I'm listening to the kids' high school football game right now on a broadcast.

Fantasmic is awesome! The wait for it is not quite as awesome, but do it anyway.

Other than the girls being here and Disney on ice, my weekend will be normal, too. Jill's bunch is going to meet up with John's family Sunday and they are going to go to the zoo.

A flip book of the tumble monkeys! That sounds fun.

I just PMed to you back with a long rambling response.;)

I just read it and told you to come back over here.

**************************

Well, I have finally settled in for the evening, I think. I am listening to high school football from the kids' old high school. It's a home game, which makes me grateful I retired a few years ago! Otherwise, I would have left school this afternoon, headed straight to the concession stand to set up and get popcorn started, and I would have been cooking hotdogs, wrapping burgers, refilling condiments, refilling candy boxes, and making change for the cashiers all night. Tonight about ten o'clock, after clean-up, I would hobble home smelling of onions and crash into the bed. I was in charge of concessions for a lot of years, and I did love it, but it was a lot of work! I was ready to pass it off to someone else, and Brooklynn's arrival gave me a good excuse. I quite enjoy coming home on ballgame nights now, but I do like listening to the games.

Earlier, I went back to Wolf Camera and with Drew's assistance, I went ahead and got the D40. I got a no interest payment on it, so I feel good about that. Drew really wanted me to have it, and if I can be a good student, he will be able to show me how to get the best out of it. For now, I'll just stick it on AUTO and let it do its thing.

So, I have no excuse for bad pictures. If they are bad, it's the photographer, not the equipment.

Congrats on the new camera!!! I can't wait to see your new pictures. You need to take some samples for us! You'll have so much fun on your next trip with it. I can't wait to use mine in November.

Forgive my rambling on. I PMed you again before I realized you had posted here.:confused3

Found this awesome video of MK from sunrise to sunset.

Very cool - can't wait- I have less than 2 weeks!!!:banana::banana:

I'm heading over to watch that, since my football game is at halftime.

DISCLAIMER on the camera, by the way: I do have ten days to return it. I'm going to try it out tomorrow, and if it seems like it's just too much for me, I'll return it and downsize. I took the L100 back after I got this new one. After tomorrow, I should have a good idea if I need to go down to something simpler or try to learn more and tackle this one. One thing that keeps making me think of going down - you might not get as good quality in pictures, but they take videos. The big ones don't take videos unless you get up in the high price range.

Have any of you figured out how indecisive I am????

Congrats on the new camera! You deserve to have nice things too!

I know it is hard for you to justify a present for yourself. We spend our years caring for family and we forget about us.

Memom you deserve this camera and enjoy every minute of it.
I can't think of any better Christmas present for Memom than maybe taking care of some of those payments on the camera for you.
I can't wait to see the pictures. I know you will have fun with it.

Post some of your test pictures and we'll let you know if it passes the quality test.... I really liked the pictures from your old camera (especially the balloons!)

I am so excited you got the D40 and have a good teacher in the house!!

You could also hit Brook up for suggestions on getting good pics as she has a dSLR and has awesome Disney photos!

Memom, I saw the D40 marked down to $340.00 at one of our Targets. I don't know if they are marked in your neck of the woods though. When I saw it I thought, "If only I had MeMom's number I would have text her to let her know."

MeMom got your PM. Can't wait to see the pics you'll get with it. I don't have a teacher like Drew or I would upgrade. I just tried the video recorder out. I forgot all about it having that feature. Now, I won't have to take my camcorder next month. Yeah! Take lots of pics tomorrow.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but I thought you or one of your readers might know what resturant this is?

That's me in 1974 at the Magic Kingdom. I was almost 10 years old. I posted a 1974 flashback trip report and I don't remember what restaurant this is. It was 1974 the Chef hat has Little Oscar on it.
Don't you love the bodysuit and knee socks?

Yay!! I am so excited on your camera purchase!! So exciting!!:banana::banana:

I will take many samples today at Disney on Ice and then more later of my babies. Brooklynn was passed out when they arrived last night, and Bella was awake long enough to eat and go right to sleep.

I'll do that this afternoon or evening. I'm anxious to see if I can tell a difference. If I really can't, I'll just downgrade to something that is less involved. Today should be a good test, anyway, because I'll have the chance to take some outdoor shots, movement shots, low lighting shots, etc.

Congrats on the new camera! You deserve to have nice things too!

Oh heavens, I do not deserve it at all, but I sure want to give it a try! I went into it knowing I had ten days to back out if I decide my heart should not have taken over my head in this decision. :)

I am so excited you got the D40 and have a good teacher in the house!!

Well, I have a teacher, but he's not very patient. He starts off slow, but then he starts flipping through things quickly and saying big words that he thinks I'm supposed to understand...but I don't.

Truth is, that is a good lesson for me, because that is the way he always felt in school, and the way many of my students feel. Some people don't grasp things quickly, and it is frustrating to listen to teachers ramble on while they sit there lost. It's no wonder they quickly learn just to give up.

I'll call them this morning and see what they say and have. This one was on sale, too, but not quite that much. I got a bunch of free stuff with it, though, that might make up for it.

Jill uses her video feature, but I always forgot I had it.

Little Oscar, according to Google, greeted guests at the Town Square Cafe many years ago, starting in the early WDW days. Seems like I recall hearing about him, but I don't think I ever saw him. I'm old, so when I hear things, I always think I've heard about them before!

Yes, you are stylin' in your outfit. I may have had similar knee socks. :)

Yay!! I am so excited on your camera purchase!! So exciting!!:banana::banana:
Can't wait to see some pics!

Me, too! I hope I can handle it and don't feel like I should take it back, but I am going to be honest with myself. If it seems too involved today, I'm going to just get something half the price and be satisfied. I don't think I'll ever be an excellent photographer or anything. I think my pictures are more about the atmosphere and mood of the moment than about the 'spectacularness' (Not a word, I'm sure) of the picture's quality. It would be nice if I could get both, though. :)

***************************

Good Saturday morning, everyone!
Saturday is one of my all-time favorite days of the week. :cheer2:
What about you guys?

I'm going to run out the store this morning before it gets crowded, and then we're going to the early Disney on Ice show. After that, I don't know the plans. We'll eat for Jill's birthday sometime this evening. She hasn't said where she wants to go yet. Other than that, I have no agenda. We usually make a trip to the Disney Store, but I don't know if Jill has that in her plans.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.

Dawn is at the beach in Savannah. She was going to go to The Lady & Sons yesterday, I think. You'll never believe what she was saying yesterday! She said, "If I had to be a bird, I'd be a pelican!" Can you believe that bird-fearing girl even had that thought???

I heard a rumor that cjackearl is making us all apple cakes this weekend, so check your mailbox for some delicious apple goodness.

wigd is either going to be getting her FES straightened out or she'll be at the wig shop getting something to cover up the fact that she has pulled her hair out because of him! :)

Whatever you are doing, have a great day, and let us all hear from you to share in your fun!

I will take many samples today at Disney on Ice and then more later of my babies.
I'm anxious to see how your pictures turn out, Disney on Ice will be very cool, we've never been, but best of all some pictures of those babies! Well Brooklynn probably doesn't think she is a baby anymore.....:cutie:

Today should be a good test, anyway, because I'll have the chance to take some outdoor shots, movement shots, low lighting shots, etc.

Do you have to click a button to take all those different shots? I know I have some settings like that too, but lazily never use them unless Marc grabs it and clicks on something. I'm challenged like that, I need a camera with a brain.

Oh heavens, I do not deserve it at all, but I sure want to give it a try! I went into it knowing I had ten days to back out if I decide my heart should not have taken over my head in this decision. :)

Oh, I think you most deserve it, you take more pictures than anyone I know of!

Well, I have a teacher, but he's not very patient. He starts off slow, but then he starts flipping through things quickly and saying big words that he thinks I'm supposed to understand...but I don't.
That would be our tech department when they come out to help us with our macs....

Truth is, that is a good lesson for me, because that is the way he always felt in school, and the way many of my students feel. Some people don't grasp things quickly, and it is frustrating to listen to teachers ramble on while they sit there lost.
That would be me with math, my students seem to be good in math though, but it was always hard for me.

Good Saturday morning, everyone!
Saturday is one of my all-time favorite days of the week. :cheer2:
What about you guys?
The last half of Friday and Saturday for me!

wigd is either going to be getting her FES straightened out or she'll be at the wig shop getting something to cover up the fact that she has pulled her hair out because of him! :)

No wig shopping for me today, it looks like problem solved! I will however be working in the kitchen tonight at out school fun night. I'm sure we will have a blast!
