Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Oh I love the jellyfish! What a neat idea. Your cake looked wonderful! You are much more brave than me. The only thing I have tackled is making cupcakes! Very cute party and the deals you got just make it that much better! Gotta love a deal!

Great job on the party:thumbsup2. You and memom need to come on down to florida when ever we have parties. Both girls are adorable. :cutie:

That is AWESOME!! :flower1:Could she make one of those and ship it to Disney for my birthday in November?!?

HA! Considering that I nearly had a stroke just getting it five miles down the road to the YMCA for the party, I'd say a Florida delivery is NOT happening! I could never deliver cakes for a living! That is very stressful!:scared1:

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! My Mom could make a living at making cakes if she would just go for it. She thinks her stuff isn't good enough to sell. I just don't get that.:confused3

Be careful driving. Please tell Brooklynn "Happy Birthday" from all of her family on the Disboards.

I had already left by the time you wrote. I'm sure Jill has shown and will show her the birthday greetings from our good DIS friends. :) She will probably fall asleep in the floor, if she hasn't already. They played hard!

Can't wait for the Nemo pictures. That is our favorite Disney movie. I wanted to do Nemo for DD when she turned 3, but she wanted Ariel. So I still got to do an under the sea theme. I will have to find the picture of the cake my mom made. It was awesome! You gotta love doing a little kids party!

BTW, I WANT THAT MUG!!!! When we were there last year, I looked everywhere for a MK mug that I liked and couldn't find one! Do you remember the shop you bought that in?

Ariel was one of her other choices, and then we kind of started seeing Nemo stuff, so we swayed her toward that, which was not at all hard. She loves Nemo. They watched it for a few minutes while they were eating.

It was in Sir Mickey's, I think, and I believe it was in The Emporium, as well.

OK. I hope you don't mind me posting a few pictures here to brag on my mother! She made this Ariel cake for DD's 3rd birthday. I think she is very talented and I wish she would use her talent more often.

I helped out with the Cinderella cake for DD's 4th birthday. That thing took us all day to make but it was worth it when she saw it. I just hated to see it cut!

She had several people at the party ask her to make them a cake after seeing the castle cake and she just said, "No, I really don't know how to do much." Yeah right! When it came to DD's 5th birthday party this year, I had to do it on my own, so she got Tinkerbell cupcakes!:lmao: They were probably dissapointing! But the Disney Poly Pocket stuff is great for cake decorating. It is just the right size. We used those on both of these cakes.

I know your Nemo party will be great. You guys always plan great parties. I still say you should quit teaching and become a party planner! Just a thought!;) Have a great time!

We're very happy for you to share, and I think it is very sweet that you want to brag on your mother. That was a true 'labor of love'. She did an awesome job! We might have to try those sometime!

That castle cake is AWESOME!!!!

Yes, it is. I love it when our Dis buddies share things like that.

I can't wait to see pictures from Brooklynn's party. You and Jill always throw the best parties!

Denise

I didn't contribute much to this one, since I've been so sick all week. Jill gets credit for the cake and the jellyfish and buying the food. I bought a few decorations, made sure the food got served hot, and watched after Bella. The big pool/slide thing was the big hit. The kids went wild over it, so there was no more entertainment needed. Jill had a game in case there was a need, but that didn't happen.

I think you are BOTH talented :worship: Those cakes are amazing!

MeMom and Jill, I hope the party goes well -- I love your Disney-themed parties.

It was a simple play, eat, and hang out party, and they all had fun. :thumbsup2

Have an awesome time at the party!

We did. It wore me out, though. That's the most activity I've had all week. It felt good to be up and about and somewhere besides school, but I was tired and ready to come back and get in my bed!

That is AWESOME!! :flower1:

Could she make one of those and ship it to Disney for my birthday in November?!?

I hope you guys have a WONDERFUL party today!!! :thumbsup2

You'll be eating birthday cake in Disney World!

Beautiful cakes! And cute pics of the girls!

Quick question Jill, the annual pass-saver thing that MeMom was talking about, how often do they come? And is the discount substantial? Patrick and I are probably going to get AP's when we go in October b/c of our upcoming trips and I was wondering if it would be worth it for one of us to get it then and for the other to wait?

I think my savings was about $40, and Jill got a $25 gift card from it. My thought is that it can never hurt to have an AP. You get pretty decent room discounts, and with the Tables in Wonderland card you save a lot on TS meals.

I'll remind Jill to come back and expand on your questions. I don't remember when those discounts expire. She may have some left and can save you some money.

Glad to hear that the doctor is going to fix you up and you will be recovering so quickly! :thumbsup2

Hope your sickness this week has let go of you so you enjoyed the nemo party today :cheer2:

Thanks for the shopping pics. I have a small list of to-look-for item for some of my fellow disers with an upcoming trip. I may have to add that Walt and Mickey purse :rolleyes1

I'm hoping they can get the MRI done at the first of the week and we can make quick plans.

I enjoyed it very much, but I walked back into the hallway a few times for a coughing fit or two. They were outside, so it wasn't bad.

What a cute party. :thumbsup2 on the cake, Jill. You did a great job! And I love the jellyfish forest. Great idea! I bet you all are tuckered out.

I think everyone will get to bed early and sleep well tonight. It was a fun day!

Jill, you did a fantastic job on the party, love, love, love, all of the Nemo goodies you found!
The cake was beeeeutiful! It looked like Brooklynn and her friends had a blast.:goodvibes

It was great to see MeMom in a couple of pictures too, how in the world did you get her to sit still for that? Well, maybe it was her knee that was keeping her still.....
Bella looked very excited to be playing in that exersaucer!

The kids' treat bags had pens, bubbles, fruit snacks, etc. We forgot to take a picture of what was inside.

I knew of one. The other one she snuck in there. Not nice, Jill.

Looks like the party was a really big hit! The Nemo cake came out great Jill :thumbsup2

Wasn't it cute?

There is news on the photo front. My camera lens has been squealing from overuse or old age or something, and toward the end of the party, it died. I will check into getting it fixed, but I may just get a new one. That one has taken tens of thousands of pictures. Drew had it before me, and now I've worn it into the ground, I'm afraid. So, I have eight weeks to get it fixed or get a new one.

She was so proud of the $1.00 banner. The girl is a bargain hunter by nature!

We'd love to!

People tell me I need to go into the catering business, but I'd never make any money because I would be so afraid of charging too much that I wouldn't charge enough.

Love the pictures! What a fun party and weather that cooperated- I hope we have good weather here tomorrow for our big bash!

That slide thing is awesome....I know that would be hit with the kids too!

MeMom sorry about your camera! Rest up before Monday!

First of all memom, I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope you can have the surgery and be up and at 'em before your October trip.

I loved the parade pictures. Such great photos!

Jill - that was an awesome Nemo party. I loved the cake and I loved the jelly fish!! Did I spy some not-so hidden memom's in the pictures?

Oh and did I comment on the shopping pictures? Don't think so, but I loved all the bags. That one with Walt and Mickey was so cute!

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend!!

The party looked awesome ladies! We did a Nemo party last year for Doug but it looks like you found a lot more bargains than we did. Glad to see the waterslide was a huge hit!

I am hoping for lots of answers for you from the MRI!

Looks like you had a fabulous and fun birthday party! I love the jellyfish, what a neat idea!

SO, since you asked me a week ago, and I haven't been able to respond quickly, my DH did get a nice present for his birthday. He got a Wii! He and my youngest DD wanted it for their birthdays. So, joint gift works great for me.
Sorry to hear that you were so sick! :flower3: What a crappy way to start out the school year. Do you have a nice classroom? (as far as the students go)
Brooklyn's party looked like it was a hit! Loved the idea of the jellyfish with bowls and streamers. You can tell that you two are in education. Creative minds!!

The jellyfish forest I created with MeMom's assistance.

99 DAYS TODAY!!!! :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.....why did I think that you had gotten a new camera??? What are you looking to spend and what do you want in one?? I do love mine, but I think there are SO many out there now that have great zooms, MPix, etc. I had a good comparison camera site I was looking at when I bought mine. Will try to find and get the link to you :upsidedow

Thanks for all the compliments on the cake, I am really proud of how it turned out! It is something I really enjoy, but I don't get to do it very often. Several of the parents at the party said they were just going to tell me their party theme and let me do all the invitations and decorations and stuff. I didn't post a picture of Brooklynn's invitation because of all the personal info on it but I printed it out on paper that looked like water, rolled it up like a scroll, put it in a clear bag with sand, shells, and fish confetti.

What a great party!!! I am drooling just looking at the cake! Are there any leftovers? ;)

There is about a quarter of it left. We ate about half of it at the party and then MeMom took a hunk of it home for Drew and Jarvis since they weren't able to come and John just ate a piece.

SO, since you asked me a week ago, and I haven't been able to respond quickly, my DH did get a nice present for his birthday. He got a Wii! He and my youngest DD wanted it for their birthdays. So, joint gift works great for me.

We have a Wii and LOVE it! They are releasing a new game on September 15th - TOY STORY MANIA!!!!! It is based on the ride at Hollywood Studios. I have already preordered mine and can't wait to play it!

DH wanted a Wii for christmas so the boys got it for him. Santa then brought the kids several accessories and games to go with it. It gets a lot of use in our house

I'm going to have to order my TSM game, Daniel's birthday is Sep 17 so I'm thinking it would be great for HIM :rolleyes1

Best of everything for your birthday bash today. Can't wait to see pictures!

That thing is great. It has the high slide, the tunnel with the smaller slide, and the pool area.

They go up. They go down.
Back up. Back down.
Repeat until worn out.
Feed them, and put them to bed.
Every family should have one.

I'll be doing camera research today, but it's possible I may get the same one Jill has. It takes good pictures, and she's been very pleased with the Kids & Pets setting. Since so many of our pictures involve little girls who are constantly on the move, that seems practical. I don't really need a camera like the one I have now that does more than I'm capable of understanding, anyway. I really just inherited that one from Drew when he upgraded.

I was already happy about the October trip, but the thought of being able to walk correctly through it makes it ever so much more exciting!

That cake was huge, too. It was done with 12" rounds, so that's a lot of cake!

Yeah, don't you think the Hidden MeMoms are so much less scary?

I like the Walt and Mickey bag. I'm on the lookout for one that is mostly black with just a hint of Disney.

The party looked awesome ladies! We did a Nemo party last year for Doug but it looks like you found a lot more bargains than we did. Glad to see the waterslide was a huge hit!

I am hoping for lots of answers for you from the MRI!

I was glad the weather cooperated so that the waterslide could do its job. :thumbsup2

I hope they can get me in ASAP. The thought of having all of this over and feeling good in a couple of weeks is very appealing to me. :)

Looks like you had a fabulous and fun birthday party! I love the jellyfish, what a neat idea!

Aren't they cute? She wanted to get a refrigerator box and make a boat to hang from the ceiling, too, but she didn't have time.

The party pictures were wonderful. I am sure the kids had a blast because I had a great time looking at them.

The kids had a great time. The parents were just able to sit around and talk because the kids were totally occupied. As they left, they said thanks for the party and for the long, quiet afternoon they knew they were going to get while their kids slept!

I love the jellyfish forest; what a great idea!!!

And a new camera...oooooh, keep us posted!

Denise

Brooklynn helped put the jellyfish up, too. I held her up so she could hand them to Jill on the ladder. She thought they were very funny up there on her ceiling!

I will let you know. I hadn't planned on buying a camera, so it won't be an expensive one.

I enjoyed your family's vacation pictures, by the way! :goodvibes

What a great party!!! I am drooling just looking at the cake! Are there any leftovers? ;)

There were leftovers. Jill could have you over for a finger food supper tonight. :)
Everyone especially loved the mini corndogs.

Huge amounts of cake. I brought a humongous hunk home. The guys took it over to a friend's house where they were going to be playing video games, so I imagine it was devoured quckly.

Seems like Wii is a huge hit everywhere. Trent and John played the Tiger Woods golf game yesterday, and Trent said it was fun.

Yeah, it was a horrible week for me at school, but I muddled through. I think this week will be a fresh start and will seem so much shorter. Last week, every day seemed like two! We're hoping to lose some students, too, and we hope that he'll hurry up and get that first grade teacher changed over to second. They just have 14-15-16 kids, and we have 23, so it's time to even things out a bit. Three or four less bodies in a room can make a big difference in noise level and activity. My room is nice, and it has a bathroom, which is kind of nice.

We enjoy doing the party stuff. We're not so much creative as we steal ideas we've seen, but it's still fun adding our own touches.

That is AWESOME!!!

Looks like you guys had a great time. Great job on the cake too!! :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your double digit milestone! :cool1:

Drew got a new camera last year, but not me. I'm looking to spend nothing. It was not in my budget to buy a camera. Tell me about yours, and I do want the comparison site, if you find it. I'm going to do some research today.

Don't you know Toy Story Mania is going to be grabbed up by Disers everywhere?!?!? I may have to try that one myself. ;)

Wishing you all a most beautiful Sunday in whatever you are choosing to fill it with! I hope you have good family time, and I'm guessing most everyone is not working, so hopefully there will be some nice relaxing time included in the day. My cough sounds too gross to think about sitting in church, so I'm going to chill at the house today and listen to a sermon or two on the internet. I know some good preachers to choose from, so I'll enjoy that. After I finish grading a Math quiz, doing some camera research, and scanning the paper, I'll probably put up the Crystal Palace pictures. Have a good day!

Morning MeMom and Jill,

What a great party Brooklynn had!!! Loved seeing all the pics, thanks for sharing!! :goodvibesThe jelly fish forest was the best and the cake was just beautiful, nice job girls!:thumbsup2

MeMom,
So happy to hear that you're feeling a bit better knee wise, but sorry to hear your cough is still persistant. I hope taking today easy, you'll feel better soon!!! Oh and I had to say, no I do not roll my eyes at your "corniness"....I thnk it's cute!!! :cutie:

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone! I have an hour to get a shower and get all three boys ready for church, better get off DIS!

Good Morning Memom! Checking in today as we got internet to tell you we are at your FAV POP! We are in the 50's overlooking the Bowling Pin Pool. We LOVE it! Perfect weather, not too many crowds...and that TIE DYE CC is to DIE FOR! Yum, but no looking back....ahem ;) We can see how you guys love this place. BTW, we will be attending a DIS Pool Party on the 25th....ran into some Dissers who have been sooooo nice, they were departing and gave us ALOT of water bottles, and stuff they didn't need. Hopefully, we'll check in again before the end of next week. :goodvibes

Congratulations on your double digit milestone! :cool1:

:teeth:

Drew got a new camera last year, but not me. I'm looking to spend nothing. It was not in my budget to buy a camera. Tell me about yours, and I do want the comparison site, if you find it. I'm going to do some research today.

Going to send you an e-mail in a few :upsidedow
