Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Jill wanted me to take a picture of this pirate-like outfit.

IMG_0261.jpg

oh, that's lovely. i don't even want to think about how stinky her feet were walking around all day at AK on JULY in boots!!! :scared:

Measuring Brooklynn for her much anticipated Dinosaur ride.

IMG_0263.jpg

She fell short and was heartbroken.

Look at that sad baby.

IMG_0265.jpg

aw....poor brooklynn! that stinks. :sad2: i remember when brooke was little and we'd go to opryland and she wanted to ride EVERYTHING so much, but she was always short for her age (which is shocking because now she's 5'10" - she shot up in high school) and never made the cut until she was way past the age of wanting to. she would even wear jellies with little heels on them and put her hair up on top of her head in a bun and still wouldn't be tall enough!

I was pretending to take a picture here, because I knew that's what you guys would expect me to really be doing!

IMG_0281.jpg

it looks like the guy next to you may be doing the same thing!

Awww...poor Brooklynn :sad1: That sad little face makes me want to give her a great big :grouphug: It's amazing how fast they bounce back though! LOL Love all the detail pictures from AK.

Loved the safari. I was very dissapointed with the safari on our trip. We really didn't see much of anything. Mostly birds. And I was so looking forward to it. I hope the next time we go, they are all out and about like that for us.

It stinks to be short! I know first hand! But soon she will be able to go on and then she will be sad b/c her baby sis can't go with her!:lmao: Overall, I was VERY surprised by how much my DD5 was allowed to ride. She could ride everything except RnRC I think. That is amazing to me b/c other parks like Busch Gardens and whatnot won't let little ones ride anything but kiddie rides. So we were very pleased with Disney's height req. I think that was one of the things I liked best about Disney was that the rides are very family friendly other than just a handful of them. It is nice when the whole family can ride things together. There are even a ton of rides that babies can go on which is really great.

Awww! Poor Brooklynn! Maybe she will grow enough this month to ride it in October :goodvibes I've never ridden Dinosaur....for some reason the thought of giant anamatronic (sp?) dinos scares me :sad2:

I enjoyed your updates. The snake Brooklynn petted looks just like our snake at home. I think snakes are so pretty. I know people think I am crazy.

Too bad Brooklynn didn't get to ride Dinosaur, but I am sure she will have plenty of opportunities in the future. I hope she remains brave when she is a little older.

It took me a while, but I'm finally caught up! I loved all the animal pictures. Poor Brooklynn, I feel so bad that she didn't get to ride Dinosaur. How much did she miss it by? Do you think she'll be tall enough when you go in October or December?

Denise

Yes I didn't have to wait long...of course then real life comes in and I have 2-3 updates to catch up on...but you know what...I always enjoy catching up!!!!

Awww...I'm sorry Brooklynn wasn't tall enough, but I bet she will be in one of the upcoming trips...however I'm happy to hear she made a friend real quick!!!

I love the bats...they are so cute (as a biology teacher, I love furry creepy things LOL)!!!

Sorry to hear your leg was hurting pretty good at that point, but here in less than a week hopefully most of that will be just a memory to you!!!!

Have a great weekend MeMom!!!!!

Gosh MeMom if I didn't already want to go to Disney, I sure do after reading about your trip and looking at your wonderful pictures.:thumbsup2

P.S. Let me say again your baby girls are beautiful.

It is FINALLY FRIDAY!!! This has been a busy, busy week at school, and I am ready to crash.

Today is Trent's 25th birthday. :bday: He started his day by working, then went to his Friday morning Bible study, then worked some more, is working out tonight, and then going to grill out burgers and chicken with friends. I know I am his mom, but this is a kid to be very proud of for many different reasons. I know he'll never read this, because he doesn't get on here, but I just wanted to acknowledge his birthday with all of you, even though he's not a little fella any more.

I love the decorations and and small details to attention all over AK. The Tree of Life is simply amazing.

Aw..that sad face on Brookie makes ME sad for her! :guilty: Haha, of course she made a friend that fast. Who could say no to that adorable face. :cutie:

Haha, I think that is great you took a pic of that "pirate" outfit MeMom! I get surprised at some of the things I see people wearing at WDW.

She did cry, because she was pumped up about going on Dinosaur, but I tried to ease the pain by letting her pick out something in the gift shop while she was waiting. She picked out the remote control ride car and played with it later in the trip in the room.

I need some bats to come live in my backyard -- the mosquitoes have been eating us alive lately!

Who knew that one can talk to a dinosaur just like one talks to the family puppy! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: This picture is precious!

Poor Brooklyn! What a disappointment not to be able to ride Dinosaur! Was she pretty close? Any chance she will be tall enough in October?

She is having some kind of conversation with her dino friend, isn't she? No telling what she was saying.

If not October, then December, I hope.

Jill and John on Dinosaur are hilarious! Then we have a certain someone taking a picture (cough, cough, hiding behind the camera) in the next one.....
Sorry Brooklynn was disappointed about the ride, do you think she will like it when she gets a little taller?

You seem to be getting a cold, wigd! :)

I think Brooklynn will be itching to try it once, but after she sees what it really is, it remains to be seen if there will be a repeat ride.

So as I watched the Turtle pics I thought... that would be a cool flip book. Teachers think like that I guess.

It was fun to watch the turtle, since so often they are just hanging out and not moving.

Wow. I missed a few days and it took me an hour to catch up :0) The pictures are great!! I have not been to AK in a while so it is really cool to see it again. MeMom I am so glad you are getting your surgery. Good luck. I iwll be sending good thoughts to you on the 9th!

We didn't spend much time in Animal Kingdom, which is very unlike us. We are going to make up some things we missed this time.

I love the Animal Kingdom shirts. Does it make me old if I remember when gas pumps looked like that and gas was about 25 cents a gallon?

I remember 29.9 cents per gallon. That's the lowest I can really recall. But old is just a term. If you're like me, you're still a teenager. ;)

Hey! That rain looks familiar!! :lmao:

Yeah, but I think you had it a lot worse than us.

Same with Trent. He was so small when he was little and sometimes his younger friends got to ride things he didn't. It made him so aggravated!

I noticed the guy beside us, too!

Ohhhh I hope I get that birthday card!!! Love the AK pics :)

Yay for a birthday trip for you!

Awww...poor Brooklynn :sad1: That sad little face makes me want to give her a great big :grouphug: It's amazing how fast they bounce back though! LOL Love all the detail pictures from AK.

That face pretty much captured how she felt, but she did bounce back okay.

Yes, there are plenty of things the little bitty ones can ride, which makes it fun for everyone!

Awww! Poor Brooklynn! Maybe she will grow enough this month to ride it in October :goodvibes I've never ridden Dinosaur....for some reason the thought of giant anamatronic (sp?) dinos scares me :sad2:

You gotta give it a try. It's a good ride!

I'm not really afraid of snakes, as far as petting them. I don't want one running loose in the house or anything, but I'm not afraid to touch one someone has out like that.

We'll try Dinosaur again soon, and maybe she'll be ready.

Denise

Glad you had time to catch up. We're going to go kind of fast on this one.

Surely by December she will.

Maybe your science classes could raise bats, and then you could send some to CP for her backyard!

Yeah, I just remembered when I was looking at the picture looking down at the ride car that I was in pain at that point.

Gosh MeMom if I didn't already want to go to Disney, I sure do after reading about your trip and looking at your wonderful pictures.:thumbsup2

P.S. Let me say again your baby girls are beautiful.

I want to go to Disney World all the time, and hanging around here where so many people talk about it and have pictures all the time just makes the longing worse.

Aren't they little sweeties? I just got off the phone with Jill. Bella was crying because Jill wasn't holding her, and Brooklynn was telling her about hopping like a bunny in her karate class. Jill is trying to get packed to go to KY for the weekend, and she really doesn't even want to go, so she's sort of got a headache right now. :upsidedow

Great AK pics. SO much we missed there. I loved the turtle sequence.
Poor little B and the Dino ride. Avery went and liked the rollercoaster part just not the Dinosaurs LOL
Happy Birthday to Trent.
Have a great 3 day weekend.

Have a great 3 day weekend.

I really think Brooklynn is going to be a little scared on Dinosaur, so it may have been a blessing that she wasn't big enough. We'll find out in the next few trips, though!

I will enjoy my weekend, because my girls will be coming on Monday to celebrate Trent's birthday. I have a ton of paperwork to get done for school, along with getting ready for a sub while I'm out, so I have a full day's work to do. I might do it all today and just get it behind me.

Happy Birthday to Trent

Happy Birthday Trent!!

Happy Birthday to Trent!!! You raised a great son, MeMom!!!

I hope Trent had a wonderful celebration! 25 years old, I can barely remember!

I will tell Trent Happy Birthday from our DIS friends. :)

So, if I have a whole bunch of school work ahead of me today, (and I do!) I'm going to need something to get me through it. I think that a shopping trip through Downtown Disney might help. Are you guys up for some DTD shopping this morning? :goodvibes

After being rained out at Animal Kingdom, we spent the afternoon hanging out at Pop getting some rest. Then it was decided that we would hit Downtown Disney for one of our favorite hobbies - shopping!

First, the t-shirt shop and art store section.

IMG_0305.jpg

I like this picture. Sorry about the glare from the lighting.

IMG_0306.jpg

Then on to Goofy's, where Jill was interested in possibly making a krispy treat bar or some pretzel rods.

IMG_0307.jpg

IMG_0308.jpg

IMG_0309.jpg

IMG_0310.jpg

The party room is ready.

IMG_0311.jpg

Lots of fun treats.

IMG_0312.jpg

Price information.

IMG_0314.jpg

The $10.00 and under store.

IMG_0315.jpg

Pooh's Place.

IMG_0316.jpg

IMG_0317.jpg

I liked these.

IMG_0318.jpg

IMG_0319.jpg

Things for sweet little boys and girls.

IMG_0321.jpg

Overhead, Pooh is flying up, up, and away on a balloon.

IMG_0322.jpg

For grown-ups.

IMG_0344.jpg

Pins from a place I would like to stay someday.

IMG_0326.jpg

Pins from a place we did get to stay at this time!

IMG_0329.jpg

Jill and Bella checking out the latest Pooh fashions.

IMG_0339.jpg

Brooklynn and Bella got stickers from a friendly CM.

IMG_0341.jpg

Brooklynn had an ID necklace made, in case she lost her grown-ups.

IMG_0345.jpg

Jill very carefully went over all the things Brooklynn was supposed to do if she got lost:
Go to a counter and find a grown-up with a name tag or find a mommy with a stroller or with boys and girls with her. Tell them, "My parents are lost," and show them your necklace.

Then, she asked Brooklynn to retell that.

Brooklynn looked at her, swerved her head down in a shy pose, stuck out her necklace and said, "My perrents is lost."

A very not good picture of a sweet girl with her new necklace. Maybe Jill has a better one.

IMG_0347.jpg

It was pretty cute.

More shopping.

Things for your garden.

IMG_0348.jpg

Brooklynn was really into Buzz Lightyear on this trip.

IMG_0349.jpg

Hand on hip. I know you're surprised.

IMG_0351.jpg

It's nice that there are simple things to do, like coloring, while the grown-ups shop.

IMG_0352.jpg

Then it was back out to the ten dollar area where I decided it was time for Brooklynn's first mystery bag.

IMG_0353.jpg

What kind of treasures might she find?

IMG_0354.jpg

IMG_0355.jpg

IMG_0356.jpg

IMG_0357.jpg

IMG_0358.jpg

She thought getting two eyeball balls was quite silly!

IMG_0359.jpg

A picture of her entire haul.

IMG_0360.jpg

One of the specials that was being run at the time.

IMG_0361.jpg

Another one.

IMG_0362.jpg

We do love going in here!

IMG_0363.jpg

IMG_0364.jpg

IMG_0366.jpg

IMG_0367.jpg

IMG_0368.jpg

IMG_0369.jpg

Then we decided that I would take Brooklynn back to Pop while her 'perrents' shopped for her birthday. My gift to her was going to be a box of the My Little Pony stuff, with Jill's approval, since it had all those little pieces. They were going to pack the box full and put it away until birthday time, and Brooklynn and I were going to disappear while they did that.

I had not eaten, and I had been wanting to try Wolfgang Puck's, so we went by there on the way to the bus stop.

You can't tell much from this, but maybe you can see a few items they have.

IMG_0370.jpg

IMG_0372.jpg

IMG_0373.jpg

IMG_0374.jpg

I had a BBQ chicken quesadilla, and it was very good!

IMG_0375.jpg

I had a few hot bites as we were walking to the bus, and they were much better than the cold bites I had back at the room.

Back at the room, Brooklynn played with a new play set,

IMG_0378.jpg

while I freed Bella's new toys from captivity.

IMG_0376.jpg

I had to unzip the top and let them breathe!

Awww nothing beats a rainy morning than enjoying some of MeMom's retail therapy!! It was a great way to start my day!! I just love going shopping with you!!!
