Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Memom... hope you have safe travels today and able to get good rest for your leg. Tennessee is waiting for you - my DH told me there was an eartquake in TN yesterday???? I haven't seen the news yet. Strange stuff. We can't wait to hear all about this magical trip.

Memom, thank you for the card. Lexi was so excited and thought it was her birthday. I told her not yet but soon (the 16th). I will try to get a picture with her but our camera works when it wants to lately so we will see. Praying that you have a safe trip home and have a great time at Fantasyland.:goodvibes

Safe travels MeMom....

MeMom I am super worried about you though.... I hope you get feeling better and get some rest on your weary body!

I'm right here with the safe wishes and worries about that knee....

I cut off the part about the people coming in, that's really nice of you all for being so thoughtful, but I'm just too darn sad to feel good for anybody when I'm leaving...

I'm late, as usual, on the Birthday wishes, and well wishes for a safe trip home.
I also didn't go far back enough in your PTR/TR to read what happened to your leg. So tomorrow I will be doing that. But, I don't need to know what happened to say that I hope your leg is doing better and that you can have it looked at when you get home!!!
SO happy you had a nice time and we all can't wait to see MeMom photos!!!!:yay:

Tonight, someone else will be in this room excited about the first night of their trip, and that thought gives me happiness as we leave. I hope they enjoy it every bit as much as we did! :)

It's been 10 days already?? :sad1:

I am just getting this note now, 10:34 pm, and I'm not sure if you are home yet - but I'm saying a prayer for safety just in case you aren't.

And for healing of that knee!!

I always think about that too-and notice the people coming off the ME, or checking in, so excited, sometimes meeting a loved one who is already there, kids bouncing - ahhhh, I just smile and reflect back on our trip and silently wish them a very magical stay. It truly does make leaving much easier!!

Hi MeMom & Jill!:wave2:

Just wanted to say hello and see how you are doing. Hope your leg is OK.

While you were enjoying WDW we have been starting school... :sad2:. We started July 30...just too early and too hot!

We also had 3 birthdays...DH (26th), DS (27th) and mine (1st). Sure wish we had been with you to celebrate. MY DS is 15! Can you believe it...soon to be driving. :drive:That is super scary...everyone in GA watch out! :scared1:

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Can't wait to read all about it. Hope the girls are doing OK as well.

TTFN,
Darlene

Hope you're all home safe and well. And hope that you can start resting that leg MeMom.:flower3:
Looking forward to hearing about your trip. And hoping your adventures will help me start planning my 2010 trip with my 2 little girls (who will be just 3 and 1) - we're booked and ready to go  but in the meantime we'll be visiting WDW through the power of MeMom's photos :goodvibes

Good morning, all! Reporting live from...well...just reporting from home now. I am sitting in a bed under a ceiling fan, but not the Wilderness Lodge one. It's the Polynesian.
Sort of.
Those of you who have been around a while know what I mean.

My Disney vacations start with such smiles and excitement and anticipation of all the good things to come, and they end with me bawling like a baby as I kiss my babies goodbye and embrace Jill for all it's worth as we both fall into a heap of mushy girl tears and hugs. They spent the night here, but had to leave early, as Bella has an 8:30 doctor's appointment. Jill said she should have gotten it for later, but probably when it's over and they can just be home for the rest of the day, she'll be glad it's done.

Brooklynn is one exhausted little girl. She was asleep a few minutes after we got on the plane. This morning, I cuddled with her as she drank orange juice and we made a few Play-Doh animals as Jill was getting Bella ready. We made a stingray like we saw at Turtle Talk, and we made and elephant and a giraffe like we saw on the safari. I am sure they were the most beautiful Play-Doh creatures ever created. :) As I held her in my lap, those darn tears escaped, and I knew that as much as I wanted to try not to end things crying, it was too late. That sweet little Bella was over on the couch wearing her little pink and white flowered outfit and smiling a big toothless grin. Forget it. I was going to cry, and I was going to cry hard.

We had an awesome ten days. There are a lot of things we did not do, because with two kids under three and a cripple, you just can't go like you might want to. Jill and I are still in disbelief that we were there ten days and did not see Finding Nemo (musical) or Festival of the Lion King. I'm shaking my head as I even write it, because I think I'm still in shock!

Wilderness Lodge - Boy, oh boy! A person could get real used to staying there very easily. It is so nice! As Jill said, it doesn't do much for calling you to go to the parks, but rather it begs you just to hang around and enjoy its beauty. Pop has two things on Wilderness Lodge, though - a better food court and a better kiddie pool.

But just sitting in one of the groupings of seats around the WL lobby talking, people watching, and hearing the chaos of Whispering Canyon, or sitting out on the overlook porch in a rocker listening to the water as it flows by - that's the life! If you're sitting in that rocker holding a baby as you watch her eyes open and close and then close a final time as she drifts off to sleep in your arms, that's the life plus some!

I tried to text periodically Dawn, Erica, and Nicole so that they could check in with you guys and update. We think it's fun to follow along with friends who are there and picture ourselves in the same spot, so we thought you'd enjoy it, too. I hope you were able to do that a little.

Now it is time to face a pile or two of dirty laundry and a house that is just coming off camp week, a few bachelor days after I left, and now us all coming back and dumping our stuff. It is not pretty.

My leg does need attention. I have to give in and admit that I need to see a doctor. I could probably keep several doctors in business for a while with this one. When your foot is so swollen you can't spread your toes apart and there is no sign of an ankle, and when you feel like you could hit it with a hammer and not feel it...that could be a sign something is wrong. ;) I know the past cancer surgery and the lymphnode removal is definitely part of that, but the knee is a bigger issue at this point. The inside stings and burns and the outside has a knee-sized knot sticking out toward the side.

And to add insult to injury, I have mosquito or sand flea bites on both legs after being on the WL beach the other night! My legs might could be a model right now for some medical guide! I am going to clean house in spurts today and spend a lot of time propping these weak old legs up on pillows. That should help the swelling significantly.

I have one more day to enjoy before I go back to school. I know that tomorrow will hit me like a ton of bricks. I will go in and sit at a table with teacher friends who I like just fine, but it won't be nearly as fun as sitting around the table with my family. Someone will bring us an agenda and a stack of papers to read - not a menu from which to select yummy food. There won't be music. The chairs will be plain - no fancy carvings or cute little bugs painted on them. At lunch, we won't discuss what ride we will ride next.

It's a different world out here. A necessary one, though. I'll Disney up my classroom a little to remind myself of good times past and good times to come. I am so thankful that I have the means to be able to enjoy these trips. I am poor compared to most of you guys, but I am rich compared to most of the world, I know. My raggedy home is like a mansion compared to what so many people have. It humbles me. I am thankful that we are able to go on these trips, even though it is a bit of a struggle financially. The good times we have and the memories we make are well worth any 'sacrifices' I might make. On the way home from the airport, Trent said, "Thank you, Mom, for this trip. I needed it so much!" What more is there to say about why I do this?

We'll get pictures going as soon as we can. John put some on their computer, and I've got some on this one. We'll share as soon as we can get everything in order.

Have a great day, everyone, and take that moment in every day to do just what Trent did - say thanks for what we have! :) Every one of us here are very, very blessed!
