I still laugh when I think about last year's Barnstormer ride and MeMom's reaction.
You should have been there! It was funny and gut-wrenching all at the same time.
If she wants to do it again, she'll have more age on her to check it out and decide. A year ago, I still consider her to have been the victim of a cruel plot by her parents, who seem to love this little ride.
Jill I know exactly how you feel about the funeral yesterday. DH's cousin had a baby die of SIDs right after Emily was born. It was the most horrible thing to go to that funeral. They even had an open casket, and that is where I drew the line.... there was no way I could handle that or the burial. The mass was terrible enough. Yes we all need to hug our kids extra!
Yea for three weeks and getting birthday parties ready... I think we are doing Mickey Combo for Luke and Hannah, and I feel the pressure to get it done!
I have only been to one funeral for a child. It was a memory that never will fade in my mind. Dusty was three, and I stood at the casket and talked to his mom while she stroked his blonde hair and talked. She never moved away from him during the entire visitation until it was time for the service to start. It was so sad. I know that he runs the streets of gold in good health, though, and all of his days have been glorious ones.
Hurray for a Mickey birthday!!!
I remember the "fun" with Barnstormer.

I wonder if Brooklynn will brave it again!!!
She has more maturity to decide for herself for real now. I do wonder if she will remember it. It will be interesting to see. She has a memory like you wouldn't believe, so we'll see what she remembers about this 'fun' ride!
If Brooklynn was tall enough last summer to ride the Barnstomer, then that means Jake can ride it in September!
I take it she was a little scared after riding? Poor Brooklynn!
Maybe just watch some other little kids come off of the ride first and then judge if you think he is up for it. I've seen kids smile the whole time, and I've seen some look like Brook!
My heart goes out to your friends and their loss.
Awhhhh! *looking at her picture* Poor Brooklynn!! Did she scream or cry at all?
She didn't scream or cry. I don't think she breathed after a certain point, so it's good that it is a short ride.
She did look a little unsure but I was expecting screaming and tears! She did very well for being so young...
Baylor rode that for the first time in March and he is 10,

I tell ya! We ruined him by taking him on SM in '06, then coaxing him back on a couple of years later. He is not a fan of dark roller coasters.....
No screaming and no tears. She was cool about it after she recovered her senses, but when asked if she wanted to go again, she was saying, "No!" pretty quickly.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend's son.

They are in my thoughts and prayers.
Brooklynn does look a little uncertain in the picture. Yay for 14 days!!
Definitely yay for two weeks!
I saw our school secretary while I was out yesterday, and she said she has to go back to school the week we're in Disney World. That's a harsh reality, knowing they're getting things ready for my return while I'm down there playing.
I would love that.

We are at POP from July 27-Aug 3. I can't wait. My birthday i the 28th so we will both be celebrating our birthdays!
We'll do it. I'll PM you my cell # and we'll work it out.
Only 2 weeks to go!
Brooklynn is so cute in her flag shirt, braving the Barnstormer. I remember the little incident last time. I hope she'll ride it again this time, now that shes a whole year older
I'm thinking she will have forgiven everyone and will give it another try.
Two weeks from right now we will be asleep at Pop Century. MeMom will be just an hour or two away from waking up and sitting in her room until she thinks it is appropriately early for people to be out even though the rest of us know it is still freakishly early. Love ya Mom!!!!
My sleeping little angel girls!!!

Well, as I type, it is about 6 here, which means about 7 there, so I've been long gone. I've been out there with the pool cleaners and sidewalk washers taking pictures of bunnies and tree branches and such.
Thoughts and prayers going out to Gage's family. What a tragic loss. That sleeping girlie pic is adorable.
Sleeping baby pictures are so sweet!
The shirts are beyond cute! I like the size of the iron ons.. they will look great on the girls! You are so close... I am excited for you all!
They turned out great! She might do some more from Kellybell's shared account now.
Very close!
all caught up again.
cute shirts.
Hey, Scott!
Did you see your birthday hello over on the TR?
Babies are so innocent when they're sleeping aren't they?
They can be crazy during the day and then as soon as they fall asleep and you look at the face, your heart just melts all over again!
I love the girls' shirts! Too adorable! They're going to look so cute when they wear them to Crystal Palace and Tusker House!
Yep, no matter how much crying or whining or messes they make or whatever they bring during each day because they are kids, and that's what kids do as they are learning the rules and boundaries of life, they remind you how truly precious they are when they fall asleep.

I know I didn't get to all responses, and I apologize. I am trying to stay up with both reports, work on my class, get ready for camp and the trip, etc., so I know I can't stay on this computer all the time. I don't mean to slight anyone ever, and I hope you will understand and give me temporary leeway until after things settle down.
I know that Gage's family can use all the good thoughts and prayers for their comfort in the days ahead as this really all hits them. I'm sure they are still in a state of disbelief and shock, and John felt that the mother was on medication to help get her through this. I did not know them at all, but even without knowing people, we can care for them, and especially in their times of sorrow. I know Jill and John appreciate the kind words from all of you and will pass on to the family when they get together in the future how many people had them in their thoughts and prayers during this time.
As Jill said, two weeks from now we'll be at Pop Century,
and we love Pop Century!
But
three weeks from now, we'll be here,
and I suspect we're going to love it, too!
