Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

The more I read about it tonight, I think I may return it after all. I really wanted to get the Nikon D40, which is twice as much, but I think I just settled to get something before this weekend. I think I should get what I want now and not end up buying two cameras - a cheaper one now and a better one next year. I'll decide tomorrow.

I better figure something out quickly, too, because I also have to come home and bake a birthday cake for one of Trent's friends for tomorrow night, too!

Even if she sleeps through the whole movie, Aileen will be getting the subliminal Disney vibes as she snoozes.

Oh! I didn't know you were thinking about the D40 -- I'd get that for sure! I am lusting after one, but it's as out of the budget as a Disney trip now that we have another little one in the house. While I'd love to have a camera to take phenomenal photos, I think Aileen was a pretty good trade off! I can settle for less than amazing photos of her with my Canon S5.

Hope that cake turns out great!

MeMom, I'm very proud of you for that balloon picture! It came out really cool and you didnt attack the balloon holder and pop them all :rotfl:

Bella is definitely YOUR granddaughter, playing the hidden game as well as you do. And Brooklynn must be your granddaughter too due to her extreme artistic talent (I remember the giraffe you made with Play Dough, it came out good!!)

Excited to see your Fantasmic pictures :thumbsup2

Love the pictures MeMom. I saw those cute little feet in that picture with that pretty little blonde. I love the balloon picture. I have the same exact camera and I love it. But, I know what you mean for a couple hundred more you can get a nicer one.

I LOVE the Animation Studio! Ryan and I found out that on Fanstamic! days you can go to the Animation Studio at around 4:30 or 5:00 and you see a whole lot of rare characters there. We saw Pinnochio, Gepetto, Prince John, (from Robin Hood), Friar Tuck, Marry Poppins + The Penguin, The Evil Queen from Snow White, The bad guy from Pochahontas (his name is escaping me right now), Pochahontas and Meeko, Goofy, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and The Queen of hearts. It was really cool! This trip Ryan and I were on the hunt for rare characters and we hit the jackpot here. Nobody really knows about it so it's not crowded at all. :goodvibes

BTW, Brooklyn definitly reminds me of Tinkerbell. :lovestruc When I took this quiz I got Belle from Beauty and The Beast.

Great pics. I really liked the balloon one at first then it made me a little nervous. Hmm-fear of being sufficated by floating objects.....
Oh my goodness I also want a Nikon D40. I really think with all the pics you take you really need a good camera. And it is super cool too. A little Dis enabling for ur evening.

I just love that balloon picture!!! SOOOOOO SOOOOO pretty! That just captures the Disney spirit.

As much as I don't like those particular balloons (suffocating Mickey and all :)), I did like the way they were lined up.

Hey MeMom, I have the Nikon S60, so our cameras are cousins!:lmao:

I can't decide if I want to keep this little cousin or trade it in for the big cousin. I am going to be thinking it through all day long, I'm sure.

Everything I hear and read about the D40 is excellent, but I'm afraid I'm too much of a novice to really know how to get the best out of it and my pictures will still only be as good as a point and shoot anyway. I'm on the fence about what to do.

I think Aileen is a good trade-off for a camera, a Disney trip, and a few other assorted items you are doing without. Go back to my very first description of myself ever and you'll see that I would have been happy being poor with a houseful of 'young'uns', like Mrs. Walton. :)

I'm glad that you are beginning to understand the restraint I have to show so often. ;)

Ahh, yes, my wonderful giraffe. That was a fun day.

I haven't even looked through the Fantasmic pictures, so we'll both be seeing them for the first time whenever I put them up. Maybe tonight.

I'm glad to hear it is good, in case I keep it. I just go back and forth with just going all out and shelling out the money now, because I know a D40 is what I want in the end.

We will be checking out your secret information in the future! Probably not this trip, but probably at Christmas. I don't think we'll be doing much in Hollywood Studios this time other than eating our Playhouse Disney breakfast, seeing Beauty and the Beast and Playhouse Disney, and riding Toy Story Midway Mania.

Great pics. I really liked the balloon one at first then it made me a little nervous. Hmm-fear of being sufficated by floating objects.....

Oh, no, not more fears!

Yes, you are big time enabling, 'cause that is what I really want to do.

Happy Friday, everyone! Two weeks from today, we are packing up and heading out for some MNSSHP fun! :dance3:

So, I decided to make the cake this morning. The cake is baked, and I have to go pour the jello over it before I leave. I'll frost it this evening right before he takes it.

Since the cake is done, that frees up my afternoon to go camera hunting some more. I am 60-40 now on taking this one back and getting the D40. I will do some more reading during my planning time, if I am able, and I want to talk to Drew some more when he gets a chance today. He doesn't have school tonight, so maybe he can even go with me to look.

I'm thinking of CP down in good old WDW this morning. I'm anxious to know if she got to go to the party last night. Nicole is headed out today for her birthday :bday: trip, so prayers for safe travel for her.

We're going to Disney on Ice tomorrow, and other than that, I don't know what the weekend holds. What's going on with all you guys?

Have a great end of the week, everyone!

Hi MeMom! Wonderful DHS pictures. I'm excited to see the Princess and the Pea myself. When is the release date? Good luck with your camera search and have a fabulous, relaxing weekend!

As for what we're up to, George has his last Saturday tennis tournament, so the kids and I will keep ourselves entertained. Maddy's going to a friends house during the day and then she and I are going to try to see Fame with another mom and daughter that evening when George gets home. I've also got oodles of apples to process from the orchard so we'll be making and freezing pie filling, apple squares and maybe some more apple butter.

Unless someone else cracked the case, my first impression of "BD" was 'Boulevard of Dreams'

I love that balloon picture!!

Hi Memom and Jill,

I have been reading along just not posting a lot lately, life sometimes gets in the way. Love the report as always.

I wanted to let you know about a cool swap that is available at all of the resorts and your dates in December are open. I thought Brooklynn would love to explore and use all the stuff in the bag.

Have a great weekend, we have a crazy one, my DS & DD enter 2 of the local county fairs each fall, the first was last weekend in August and they won a total of 32 ribbons. They enter their collections (DD received 2nd place ribbon for her Disney trading pin collection), artwork, baked goods (Both won 1st place for their Disney Cakes DS did Goofy and DD did Pooh) and vegetables out of the garden. The second fair is this weekend so we have another 30+ items to get ready and get to the fair tonight for judging. I will let you know how we did. Here is pics of the last fair:

The kids did the cakes themselves (no one thinks they do) since I won't let them enter anything they didn't actually make. Must follow the rules. :rotfl2:

Memom,

I hope you find a camera you really like. I would love to have a better camera, but I wouldn't know what to do with it. My picture taking skill are not very impressive.

I hope you all enjoy Disney on Ice this weekend. Two weeks until Disney?! We have 4 weeks! I can't wait. My whole family is going. I have been having dreams for weeks that I have to wait on them and am late for everything. My family is not an early rising family so I hope my dreams do not turn out to be true.

As luck would have it, I got a call from a friend yesterday who got free tickets to Disney on Ice, so Abby and I will get to go afterall :cool1:(I am certain that was pixie dust - we weren't going because I am trying to save, save, save for our disney trip and have had so many extra expenses with the new house). We are going to the Sat 6:30 show, though, so will miss you. I hope you all have a magical time!

I have a lot of friends who have upgraded to a dSLR without a lot knowledge and still see a huge difference shooting in auto or in P. Specifically, the shutter speed, clarity in higher ISOs, and more vibrant colors have made their pictures just pop after the switch. Someday, I'll be in the upgraded camera realm and I am happy waiting til the time is right!

I hope you enjoy Disney on Ice! We had thought about going but I remembered it was here the day after it left. OOPS! This weekend we have a special grocery shopping trip to do for my mom before we go see her next weekend. Other than that, I think it would be a good weekend to take the boys to play at a fall festival or the children's museum.

Good luck finding a camera. I recently had to do that same hunt. It takes a lot of thought and research to get the right one, especially when you are a major shutterbug! Just a thought............ I considered the D40 also, but I decided to go with a camera that will take video as well. I went with a Cannon point and shoot b/c the SLRs that take video are WAY out of my price range. I'm so glad I did b/c I have taken SOOOO much more video than I ever did with a separate camcorder. It is just so convenient to have the two features in one. And you have so many sweet things to take video of!! And I would put the quality of the pictures up against any SLR. Just a thought as if you don't have enough to consider already!:rolleyes1

Disney on Ice sounds fantastic! We are having a Disney weekend too. We are going to see Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D!!! :3dglasses:3dglasses:3dglasses I have never been so excited to pay $30 to go to the movies to see a movie that I've already seen 100 times!!!!:lmao:

Check your fairy tales, friend. It's Princess and the Frog, I believe.
Or maybe it's a combo movie about a frog who can feel a tiny pea under his mattress? ;)

What is the release date, anyway? I think it's at the beginning of December, isn't it? I hope to be able to go whenever Brooklynn sees it.

I wish I was fixing apples with you! I love fried apples, apple cobbler, apple cake... YUM! Lucky you to have all that!

The camera decision is driving me crazy!!!
I am grateful for all input.

Unless someone else cracked the case, my first impression of "BD" was 'Boulevard of Dreams'

I love that balloon picture!!

I suppose you are on the road to Disney World right now. I'm going to be checking your Twitter regularly.

I can't see the pictures at school, but I look forward to seeing them this evening. You have such great kids! I think it's so cool that they get to inject a little Disney love into some of their projects, too.

Two weeks from now I'll be a very happy teacher lady! :woohoo:

If they don't get up, just leave them and go out shooting pictures. :)

One of my teacher friends went last night, but I haven't seen her today yet, so I haven't heard the reviews.

Yes, it is a perfect weekend for a fall festival! The weather, after being rainy this morning, is beautiful here now.

Look for Disney on Ice pictures from some kind of camera (who knows what?) here either Saturday evening or Sunday.

I would try Toy Story 1 & 2 3D, but I think it would be too long for Brooklynn.

PMed you about your Canon.

We are planning on going to see Toy Story in 3D. We are going to go see Disney On Ice when it comes in March. The one coming here is 100 Years of Magic.

You don't have very long! :dance3:

Hope you have fun at Disney on Ice tomorrow! B/F and I might go see Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D this weekend.

Great update MeMom :thumbsup2 I love the picture of the band in Morocco and also the balloon picture , sooo pretty ! The Animation Studio pictures are great , can you believe that we have been 4 years in a row and have never been in there ? It's a must do for our next trip , seems like there is so much to see and do in there .

I can relate to the camera delima . This summer my Cannon SLR broke and they want a lot of money to fix it so I just went out and bought a Nikon Cool Pix to hold me over until I can afford to fix my Cannon SLR . Well needless to say I miss my SLR like crazy , the Nikon's picture quality does not impress me at all :( I would have to say SLR all the way !

Good luck finding a camera! My dad got a Nikon D60 last year and he loves it. My old camera died and I finally got a Sony Cybershot a few weeks ago -- I LOVE it. All of the pictures on my FB in the Fall '09 album were taken with it. If you want any more input about it, or my dad's take on the Nikon, feel free to PM me. :goodvibes

I hope you have an amazing time at Disney on Ice! I can't believe that you guys and Katie are going to Disney so soon. We're 130 days away, so in a month, we'll be in the double digits! :hyper:

Happy Friday, everyone! Two weeks from today, we are packing up and heading out for some MNSSHP fun! :dance3:

:banana::banana: I'm completely ready for another trip taken vicariously through a darling family! We just decided to go for our Anniversary in December, so the Disney-itis is rampant at our house!

In the meantime, we'll be celebrating our nephew's second birthday this weekend. Sadly, his party is Thomas the Train themed.....he hasn't been properly introduced to Disney yet. We're working on it.

Vandyfan How are you feeling?
I have noticed the same problems on here lately. Sometimes I sit here for a long time and eventually give up.

I'm doing very well....THANKS! :goodvibes

I'm glad someone else is having the same problems as I am. Drives me crazy though when I have to 'exit the system'

I do have quite the mix, don't I? I've got black, white, and Asian covered. Now I need Brazilian, maybe, or an Italian? Maybe a red-headed Irishman.

You do....and I love it!! They are all VERY cute kiddos! I would go for maybe adding the Italian next , they can cook some AWESOME food!!

DIS is slow sometime. It's annoying, but worth the wait if you do have the time. When I don't have the time, I just leave it and have lots more to catch up on later, but I'm always glad it is here. :)

I'm very glad it's here too, and I've had slow issues from time to time. But this just seems to be EVERY time I get on now...maybe it's just getting more and more popular and night time isn't the time to be 'dising :rotfl:

Found one - Nikon CoolPix L100. We'll see what it does.

Glad you got a camera and have a wonderful time at D. on Ice. I went last night and it was VERY cute!! :thumbsup2

AWESOME PICTURE!!! :thumbsup2
