My 4 year old DS broke his arm last night in three places (he fell off his bike and his 6 yesr old DS rode over him!) It is 6 weeks until we go to Disney, so there is a 50/50 chance he will still be in a full arm cast/sling. Do you know if there are any rides (aside from height) that he will be restricted from going on? He is already hearbroken that he cannot play soceer this year (he had already gotten all his gear and his uniform):sad1: I don't want to have to tell him that he can't go on the rides he was looking forward to also.

As long as the cast will fit with any ride safety restraints, there should be no problems. Some of the coasters may throw him around, though. But Disney will not restrict him from riding. Poor little guy. :(

My then 6YO was in an over-the-elbow cast for our trip last summer. She could ride every ride, and she was still able to ride the water slide at the Poly (waterproof casts are the best, if you can)! She got TONS of attention from all the characters, was picked for lots of shows, most signed her cast. We kept the sling around and sometimes at the end of the day, she did ask for it.

I was SO upset about it, but it ended up just fine. :thumbsup2

Good luck!

Oh poor little guy! I am sure he will be able to ride just about anything, like the PP's said! Good luck and hopefully that will cheer him up a little!

I didn't know they had waterproof casts, how cool! I could have used one when I was a kid - a few times!

If you can't get/dont' have a waterproof cast you can get him a cast protector. Do a search for "stay dry pro pump" and you'll find them. They used to have a site of that name but it won't open right now. Cost about $32 and with that he can go swimming!

Let us know how it goes!

I spoke to the dr and they said if it is not off in time we can pay $50 to have a waterproof cast out on. It will be worth the money, he is so excited about going swimming at the pools and going on Splash Mountain for the 1st time.

My DS4 broke his arm this summer and we got a Dry Pro cast cover. It was nice because it went over the cast and my doctor didn't want to give him a waterproof one, he gave me a reason, but can't remember. But anyway, we found this company and I highly recommend to anybody! His arm was a little skinny for the top, so we would put it on and tape the top with waterproof tape. DRY!

And before anybody ask...nope don't work for them...just glad I found them!!!

ETD...Forgot to tell you, it only cost $35. I called the company and they were able to give me a location near by that sold them so I didn't have to pay to have it shipped.
And here is my baby at the beach with his on.

Wow, thanks I am going to look into this. It would be a lot less traumatic then having the 1st casr cut off and a new one put on.

We experienced this a couple of years ago, and as everyone has said, no problems with the ride. I do recommend carrying a sling with you...even if he normally doesn't need it, with those long Disney days, he may need it by evening.

My DS broke his just a couple of days before we left. He had the cast put on the day before we left and was going down the waterslide with his waterproof cast the next day.

It will be ok.

Enjoy!
