I can't imagine why she came all the way across the country to lip synch for 14 minutes? I wouldn't even go to the trouble (and cost) to see my favorite singer for that little time. But it seems some people enjoyed it!

It said in the newspaper I read today (the Sun) that the technical fault proved that she was actually singing live.

Apparently the backing tape only provided the music, not vocals.

Dunno who is right...

There was a minor audio problem during her performance of “Do Somethin’.” The CD seemed to be skipping so the backing vocals were gone for a second but Britney’s voice continued, though her microphone kept slipping under her chin as she danced.

Maybe she sings a little (not fully) while lip synching. It sounds like after this problem, she may have actually sang the next song live. Someone else said that she tends not to sing while dancing, but may sing live while doing ballads.

I'm glad that my favorite performer (Rick Springfield!) does 2 hours shows, live. He's amazing! I don't know that I'd go just for 14 minutes, even as much as I enjoy him. I know Britney Spears has a lot of fans, I just don't understand travelling cross- country for tiny concerts.

I think everyone has seen her "Lip Synching", all over the pages of magazines and web sites.
When you get to that level in your life to get publicity, go home its over!

I agree with you Carol, but I think she could have handled a comeback better. Madonna's longevity has been achieved on the back of her constantly re-inventing herself and I think this is what Britney needs to do.

The problem I think she has at the moment is that she is trying to pedal the same old material that got her to the top the first time but at a sub-standard level, the performances just aren;t at the same level. Whilst she can live of her previous success for a little while before the masses turn I think ultimately she needs to tidy up the act and come out with something new if she wants to continue.

She isn't a girl anymore - she's a mom of 2, who needs some tough love before she goes the way of Anna Nicole Smith. She probably was in the spotlight too early, got married too young, had kids she wasn't quite ready for.

She can get it together if she wants, and I hope she does. She obviously still has a fan base who is prepared to pay for a concert that is shorter than many potty breaks. She isn't my cup of tea, but occasionally I've enjoyed a song on the radio from her.
