British Isles Cruise- VISA?

We are checked in as of tonight for cruise to british isles. We just now saw the fine print that we may need a visa for this cruise. We are fighting with the travel.gov website and cant find out legit information as to whether or not this is necessary but kind of freaking out bc we dont really have time to obtain visas. Has anyone taken this cruise and can verify whether or not that was a requirement?

We are both USA born citizens who have no immigration til you get to like 7th generation back.
England, Scotland, Ireland, and France.

As far as I can tell, US citizens do not need a visa for these countries, only your passport needs to be valid for at least 3 more months after leaving France.

Haven't taken this cruise but according to the State Dept website, no visas are needed for any of those countries as a US citizen.

From the UK government - electronic travel authorisation (ETA) not yet required for those traveling on US passports. I’ve seen in the news where this will be required at some point for most everyone, maybe now delayed to 2025? It’s been pushed back a couple of times. Adding this to the string for those who search in the future.

The fineprint is there because Disney doesn't know your nationality. It is up to the passenger to check visa requirements. This way they are not liable if you show up with no or the wrong paperwork.

I am a US citizen who has flown into Amsterdam, London, and Paris and done a Disney cruise out of Southampton in the past 18 months. No visas have been required. As Mathmagicland posted above, it is likely that the United Kingdom will require a Travel Authorization form for visitors from the US and other countries, and the European Union will require a similar form, starting sometime next year. However, those are not yet required for US passport-holders. The articles I have read indicate completing the online form will be much quicker and easier than getting a Visa for most people.

So, those traveling from the US on a European cruise in 2025 should follow the news to see when this requirement takes effect, but 2024 travelers don’t need to complete the new form unless they are from a small list of countries.

No visa needed for USA passport holders (no matter how many generations back to immigration, lol) going to the UK.
Can’t think of any Euro country requiring a visa from Americans since sometime in the ‘80s.

These sites may be helpful for cruises to Europe / UK in 2025. They may or may not include the United States in their initial roll-out, but it will be worth watching so that no one has to panic or miss their cruise next year. One site is for the EU and the other for the UK. I hope this is helpful. (They are basically a "not a Visa, Visa").
