I have heard so much about the Brita water bottles on the board. For those who have used them...does it filter out that funny taste Orlando water has? (not meant to offend, but I really notice that the water tastes different than I am used to, especially in the hotel room). I'm trying to decide between a Brita water filter vs buying a case of water to use in the parks and the room. Thanks!

I have found that the Britta water bottles work very well. I brought two new bottles to Europe (I am really particular about the taste of my water!) during a very hot summer and they were a God-send. I am not a fan of the way the water tastes at WDW and I use these bottles constantly. I even use them for the water I use to make coffee while at OKW. I should have them insured! ;)

I bought one but haven't tried it but still debating. I haven't priced bottled water. We don't drink bottled water at home, just tap water. I have a bunch of normal water bottles I never use anyway so I think the brita one will just sit here after our trip. How much does a pack of bottled water (about 12 or so bottles) cost anyhow.

I use it every trip. We have great water where I live, so I tend to be a water snob. I purchased a bottle carrier at WDW. It's neoprene (dark blue with the fab five characters on it), with a long strap. The brita fits perfectly in it. I fill it with ice in the a.m., then keep it filled with ice (you can get ice free at most places that sell drinks) and water all day. I drink a ton of water due to digestive problems, so this solution saves me tons of money. I only use it for WDW, and bring it out each trip (with a new filter). I say buy one, and you'll love it!

We bought Brita water bottles for our trip last May after reading about them on these boards. We found that if we drank from them immediately after filling the bottles (while the water was still very cold), it tasted OK but if the water sat in the bottle for a short while, the water tasted terrible and was undrinkable.

We went back to WDW in January and opted to buy bottled water instead. We bought a case of 24 16-oz bottles at a grocery store for less than $10. We stayed at AKL and had a fridge in our room so it worked out great. Every day on our way to the parks we each grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. We had plenty of water for the week -- even left a few behind when we left.

We use the Brita water bottles on every trip. Instead of just drinking out of water fountains, we fill our bottles instead. I also make tea using water that has been filtered through the bottle. Filling them with ice at the beginning of the day is a good idea too.

They are a little hard to find. One of the Walmarts here in town has them, but the other does not.
