Brita water bottle filters used on a previous trip???

Do they really need replacing? We have 7 of them and they're expensive to replace. I figure each filter has filtered 15-20 bottles of melted WDW ice! It will have been a year between uses. Anyone reused there filters after a year of not being used?

My replacement package says to replace after 60 to 90 days based on taste, I know that is vague but you might check with the Brita company and see what they say. I would be afraid of bacteria because they have sat for so long.
