I have lanyards for the whole family that I would like to have in our carry-on luggage so that we can use them the first day. The lanyards have a bunch of Disney trading pins on them. Is there anything in the new screening process that would cause a problem with this? I do NOT want to risk having to get rid of the pins.

Thanks!

you be fine i travel with my pins and put it in my carry on so you wont have anything to worry about.

Ok I've been researching this too and it seems it will be OK to bring them in your carry on but I am curious... Can I have a couple attached to my carry on bag?

My grandma got the same carry-on as I did and I was going to use pins on the outside to tell them apart.

Thanks for the info! My youngest will be happy because we are going to go straight to Epcot our first morning. DS wanted to be able to show off his Chip N Dale pins at the Garden Grille that evening. Happy that I can tell him yes now.

A tip that I got here that I use is to put your lanyard, pins and all, into a zip lock type bag. Not only does that make it so the TSA agent can clearly see what they are, it keeps you from loosing any pins, should the back come off.

Never ever put your pins in your checked luggage. That is a good way to never see them again.:rolleyes1

I have flown multiple times with my pin bags and pin lanyard in my carryon and each time I never had any problems with them. Sometimes when going through security they would be checked and other times they were not looked at, so it's a 50/50 chance of that happening.
