Wow, you guys have been chatty while I was working. I am glad to see some of the ideas people are considering pre and post. I too have done a little obsessing over the airfare. I am gonna run up my FF miles on my card so that I can hopefully have it paid for by that.

I see there are two of us (Dee) and I will have no problem keeping us a part. :rotfl2:

Have a great day all

OMG - There are actually 3 Dees: eye R.N., dee47 & faireygod mother! What are the chances of that happening? Call Guiness Book!! :rotfl:

I keep reading this cruise refered to "Ship of Fools. I do not understand the reference "Fools" can someone please explain this to me?

Dee47 - thanks for the info abour raileurope. I will check it out immediately. I spent 2 hours last night on the net checking on trains. I have always wanted to visit Switzerland and I found a reasonable 5 day package that takes in all the sites and 3 cities. We will fly into Zurich (plane fare $805) and then take the train to Barcelona.
I've heard it is a beautiful trip on the train. Of course the best part is bringing the Magic Home again. I have great memories of our sea days on the Panama Canal trip. The vinegar tasting I will never forget. I actually buy good vinegar now. I'm still making the blueberry cobbler that we learned how to make at the cooking session. I'm new to the Dis board so thanks again for all your good tips.

Was anyone on the Panama Repo back to Florida last year? What was different from the 7-day cruises?

The Ship of Fools - were the people on the August PC Repo - that was 14 nights ..

We had lots of fun on the cruise and have remained friends ever since. In fact before the cruise -we were afraid of having withdrawal symtoms :rotfl2:

I'm going to try to call the local office - concerning group rates - how effected are they by strikes and what the on-time record is.

Group photo - this time Shutters had better light it better - so we don't have people in the shadows.

Maybe we can just convince them to take it like they do the dvc member cruises on CC. I think I heard they used a crane or something.

There are lots of us on this thread that did the Aug Repo last year. We ended up calling ourselves the ship of fools after a certain painting and that was finally shortened for just Fools. In fact, for me the biggest draw of this cruise is getting to spend time with them. So if I miss something I'm sure the fellow fools will help fill in the gaps.

The joy of 14 day cruise is you have time to fit in many of things that you don't normally get to do. For example there are several times for the "tastings" wine, beer martini. Last year we were graced with "Ducky" Williams who did several talks and did an adult class on how to draw Mickey Mouse. The murder mystery at sea was a big hit, made all the funnier by the Captain and his noon report from the bridge ( a long story) There was even belly dancing lessons. They also had many art auctions that I would have normally passed on, but there was time to watch and enjoy. All in all I was never bored but had very few times when I was conflicted about which event to attend.

Hmmmmmmm........ any other explanations?????

I was on the August repo last year too and I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! It was the BEST Vacation i ever took!!! It makes the 7 nights cruise too short now!! :rotfl: Because we were on the cruise for so long, we all became like family!! Sea days were awesome since there were so much to do and you can sit and talk with the others and get to know them as well. Many of us still remains friends and had few meets throught out the year and i am so looking forward to see them all again!! 14 night is a very relaxing cruise and that why i am going again on the "Bringing the Magic Home".. AGAIN!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I agree with all of the above. The PC August repo was simply amazing start to finish. We had twice as much time to get to know the staff. There were awesome new menus and lots of little gifts (pins, antenna toppers etc) given out at dinner. There was special merchandise for sale, and different activities on sea days. I just loved the extended entertainment in the Walt Disney theatre too! So many things!

For once I actually felt like I was unpacked! I found there was more time to journal and relax. I also felt like I could enjoy all of my favorite food...without stuffing myself meal after meal. I always knew there'd be another day to eat more scoops if I missed one day. I tried things I never had on 7 day cruises too! I actually tried jogging on 4th deck! HA!

Hope this helps those that are new to the fools group. You're in for a real treat with the 14-day cruise!

Hope that everyone had a great weekend. I have spring fever! Temps in MN are in the low 60s....spring is here!

A group of obsessive vacations planners who spent fifteen months celebrating friendship online and about twenty days in person. A mass so large it nearly took over an entire dining room. People so chatty that one thread couldn't provide enough space. A group so friendly you felt like you were in the show Cheers whenever you entered a room. They are people so generous, the Cool Side Fools had something new to play with almost each day. The Ship of Fools is an ever expanding circle of friends who will set sail AGAIN in 2007 for new adventures and new friends!

Well, we're glad to be included in Ship of Fools, part 2! :) Unlike movie sequels (which tend to stink!), it seems this will be more like the next chapter, each chapter better than the previous, right?

Have a most awesome day!

Very well said Robin! I don't think I can add anything else to this. I value all the friendships that I made through the Ship of Fools and look forward to adding more people to that list.

I couldn't agree more - can't wait to meet all the new fools in person.

The strangest thing about meeting someone in person and chatting for so long on the net - is putting the face with the screen name - and trying really hard to call the person by their name/ not screen name :rotfl:

Awwww! That was a lovely way of explaining it! :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Does anyone, or is anyone shy or have a spouse who is? The thought of sitting with people I do not know for meals is the most frighting thing in the world for me. My Dh is not very social at first either (sound more masculine than to say he is shy). Once I get to know people in a crowd setting I am very social. Unfortunately we always travel with a large family group and this time it will be the two of us. If I could win the lottery I would bring some family with me. :rotfl2: Maybe I never win becasue I do not play. Darn I think I just figured out part of my problem. :lmao:

Have a good day all
