It sure is quiet! I should be cleaning my house, getting groceries ... all of the boring stuff. Disney is much more exciting!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

I hope all of us moms have a lovely day today

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Another Day Over and that means another day closer!

What, have we all lost interest in the Med Repo?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh heavens! I'd never lose interest in a 14-day cruise!

It's been quiet around here for certain. I'll ask a question to get everyone going:

What's your favorite dessert on the Magic?
I'll go ahead and state the obvious for me....Chocolate Lava Cake. Because that's such a popular response, I'll also say Creme Brulee Cheesecake!

I am looking forward to the new menus that we'll be trying on the repo, but still love these classics!

I've been getting one e-mail after another from my friend about RCCL's FOTS. She's sailing on it with her family in December. It looks like a great ship...just not sure if it's for me. Does anyone else feel like they like the size of the Magic and that 4,600 passengers is just too much? I'm also partial to the fresh water pools on the Magic. I don't know why all other ships use salt water....so strange. Also, I like feeling the ship move underneath me. I doubt FOTS will even feel like a ship! It's like a moving city! :lmao:

If anyone is already booked for FOTS, you'll have to give us a full report. I'm curious...just won't cancel a DCL cruise to try it!

There. That should bump us up for a bit!

Check ya later,
Erica J.

Hello Everyone,

I have never been on the Magic so I can't comment on the desserts although I am looking forward to them. We did enjoy the Palo souffle very much on our 3 night Wonder cruise.

I have not lost interest in our cruise, in fact I think about it daily, I went to the library last week and checked out 6 or 7 books. So far I have read London for Dummies and Taking your Kids to Europe. I thought both were great. It really helps add to the excitement.

My DH was supposed to get me the Passporter DCL 4th edition for Mother's Day, he didn't, so I guess I will go ahead and buy it. He did order the Passporter Disneyland Edition that is shipping this week, I will be excited to read it as well.

For those with children it seems like the last few weeks of school are such a sprint to the finish line. Our school gets out really late, June 23rd this year. I am in charge of Teacher Appreciation Week (which we are doing this week) and Open House is next week and my daughter has two major projects due by then. In the scheme of life one could hardly call this stressful stuff but it sure keeps you hopping!!!

What are your summer vacation plans? I know many of you are taking advantage of the free dining plan at WDW! Wow!!

We are heading to the Santa Cruz Mountains for a family camp for a week in early August then in late August we are going to Lake Tahoe, San Fransisco, Hearst Castle and Solvang. A drivng vacation (who knew gas prices would be so high! ) so that we can save for next year's cruise!! :cool1:

Hope everyone is doing great!

Favorite dessert? It would have to be the Chocolate Lava Cake. Actually multiple desserts every night keep me happy --- I don't care what they are! I'm sure after this trip though the waistline might be a little bit bigger!!

My son has a Grade 6 Outdoor Ed trip the first week of June for 3 days. I'm going on that with him. He's not too impressed that his "Mom" has to go with him. He's diabetic so it's too long for him to be by himself with all of the extra activity he'll be getting during those days. Yes I worry!!

He's then heading to Newfoundland with my parents for the whole month of July. My cousin is heading up here for the 3rd week of July ( :cool1: just us girls - no kids - will be fun) and we're then going to Newfoundland for the last week of July. I'll come back with DS and parents.

And he's off to Diabetes Camp for a week in August. It feels like I'm barely going to see him all summer. :sad2:

So school will start again in September and then before we know it it'll be Christmas time again ... heading to Fort McMurray to spend it with my parents. They're retiring after Christmas and moving back to Newfoundland so it'll be our last Christmas there. I grew up in Fort McMurray and time my parents leave they'll have been there for 30 years. They're going to be so far away though.

FYI ... we're in the middle part of Alberta (right above Montana) ... Fort McMurray is in Northern Alberta ... and Newfoundland is the east coast island of Canada.

And then it's FINALLY 2007 which means that THIS cruise is that much closer and August just won't come soon enough!!

My favorite dessert would have to be Palo's chocolate souffle, followed by the chocolate lava cake (see a pattern here?)

I have no interest in sailing anything other than DCL...I'm so addicted! And I agree -- FOTS seems way too big for MY comfort zone. I like a ship the size of the Magic, and I hate salt-water pools! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My son gets out of school in late late June as well. But there's that "end of the year" feeling in the air already, LOL. He'll be away at camp for 4 weeks this summer, + 2 weeks of Tae Kwon Do day camps...the rest we'll see. Maybe a choice between WDW and DL? I should also make a final decision about the Dec. cruise. I really can't afford it, but...we had so much fun last time, and the family we sat with at dinner (and grew very close to) is sailing again. Our resies are linked so we'll have dinners together again...Hey, does anyone have a winning lottery ticket for me??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We started a coin jar last week. We're up to $46 (I actually counted...that's just SAD!). Not bad! Of course, we hunted for every coin in the house. The rest won't be so easy...no more hidden coins! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dee ... I had to cancel my Xmas cruise ... it was actually painful to do so. I had the 10 day one booked for quite a while but when the Med came up ... what to do?? Had to cancel the Xmas one.

Freedom of the Seas! Way too big for us. DS would have no hope of being allowed to wander out of my sight. And I just really really like DCL. I think someday when I do go on another line it's just not going to compare, no matter how big it is.

Okay, I have been lurking for a while and thought I would put in my 2 cents (Dee wish you could put that in your money jar :lmao: )

I must be a dessert pig. I love them all. It just drives me nuts becasue I have a hard time making a decision so I end up getting a plate at the buffet and trying all of the desserts. People probably look at me and say things under thier breath. I am of the opinion that I should have an open mind and try something new when I am cruising, and I do.

We did a cruise on RCCL last October on the Mariner of the Seas. It is a larger ship and it was nice, but we kept finding ourselves comparing it to DCL. I have to tell you that it is more than the ship that keeps us coming back to DCL and we have no young children (Ours are all married with their own kids). The service and staff on DCL make the experience what it is. We felt that no matter who we talked to on RCCL we got the same attitude, as if we were bothering them. You guys know what I mean. They were not rude, but you could tell they were not happy to be there and everything was an effort. The food was ok, but we were ready for hotdog or pizza. Again what DCL has to offer. I, personally, can not live on cruise food all the time. My Dh and I were so bored. They play the same movie on TV all day long, where DCL has a huge selection and a movie theatre. Well now that I have re-confirmed what I do and do not like I am glad we have two pending cruises with DCL. If I had to do another cruise line I would never do NCL again, but might try Princess or Rccl. Otherwise I am addicted to DCL.

Have a great day.

I love the chocolate lava cake, but on the last repo, they served a Grand Marnier souffle with warm vanilla sauce...OMG it was the most fabulous dessert I have ever tasted!

4000+ passengers and 1500+ crew is just too many people for me. I would have issues letting my kids out of my sight, and that's what I loved about the last cruise...I knew a LOT of people, both parents and kids. My kids were never alone, and never with total strangers.

This is the last three weeks of school around here and we are running all the time with projects, recitals, school performances, parties (we have three birthdays in our family alone this month, and all DD's friends are May babies too) My nephew graduates next month and we're going to California to celebrate it. Lucky kid, his grad nite is at Disneyland! I bought passes to Six Flags (*gasp* but we don't have Disney here) and plan to use them out in California too, AFTER I get my Disney fix. We'll enjoy the water parks at our Six Flags park, and continue to count down the days until our WDW trip. :cheer2: I certainly don't want to wish away the summer though!

That sounds absolutely divine!! I'd be having one of each every night :cloud9:

Oh so now you start talking! :rotfl2:

DCL it is! Even asked DD if she wanted to try another line. NOPE, was her answer.

As for the desserts! Chocolate Souffle with Vanilla Sauce! :thumbsup2

Had an interesting conversation with my boss before I left work yesterday.......

Apparently there are a few people that are taking off for vacation this summer, our busy time, and he's going on and on and on about since these peeps are going so far away they need 3+ weeks! HELLO! What about me! I want that too for next summer! I'm giving you almost 2 years notice! NOT 2 months! He just looks at me and says, "What's that look for?" My last comment to him, "Remember, I would have loved to do the 10 day cruise prior to the Repo Cruise! Which means I would have to leave August 8th, give or take!" and just left! Maybe there is still hope! And I'll win the lottery too! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Rant over!

Don't worry dee, I'm with you on the desserts. I'd rather skip my salad and go for trying two desserts with my meals! I, for one, won't be saying anything about you under my breath in '07.....except "oh, SHE'S got the right idea!" :rotfl2:

It's nice that we all agree that there's something extra special about cruising with the Main Mouse. Dee, I expect that if I tried another cruise line, I'd have a similar report to the one you posted about the Mariner of the Seas. I think it would be ok to try another cruise line, but I'd be comparing everything to DCL. Quite frankly, I feel like the Magic is a "home away from home" for me and my family. Kinda like visiting the parks over and over again. It's become a tradition and I'd feel so strange cruising on another ship! There are so many great memories on the Magic!

I'm sure this is the same for most of you and your families too. My friend and I discussed the idea of me going on RCCL FOTS in December....but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on a non-Disney cruise. I think I'd cry the first time I walked into the theatre and there weren't any mice to be seen! As far as my friend goes, she's been on 2 DCL cruises and could care less if she's on the Magic again! ACK! It's funny how different people are! Reminds me of something an old co-worker said to me. I was planning a trip to WDW & the guy asks me, "Do they still have all of the same OLD rides at WDW?" SAME OLD RIDES????!!!!! There you go, some people just don't get it! (GGgggrrrrrrrr)

Anyways, there are many lovely ships out there....but I will stick with sailing the Magic and Wonder with all of you!

Scratch42, sounds like a pretty frustrating situation with your boss. I'll cross my fingers that he comes around and lets you take the extra days off. Not sure if I can help you win the lottery. My dad has his hopes pretty high for winning too! Maybe one of you will!

I suppose I should work now. Have a Disney Day everyone!

Don't you just love this part!

Is anyone else doing the transfers through DCL? I understand it is 100.00. I had not thought about getting from the airport to the ship in Barcelona. I guess I had better research that a little better. Any suggestions?

Well I may be trying RCCL in a few weeks! DH and I were booked for the Explorer for this Memorial Day without the kids, but had to cancel. Now my mom expressed a desire to go an a cruise with my sister and myself! She has to know not to put that kind of idea in either of our heads!! :rotfl2: We have been scouring the internet looking for something not too outrageous. RCCL was just having a $99 special for 3rd and 4th passangers too!! :upsidedow We want to go to Bermuda so we can leave from close to home, but the prices are a little steep now..... I guess I have to talk to DH too. :lmao: Maybe the Explorer the second week in July for my mom's b-day. If I go to late in the year DH will never let us go on the Magic in Dec! :scared1:

I wiould have to say the chocolate souffle from Palo was my favorite. And of course the lava cake!
