Fairygod Mother Dee,

Yes, both my husband and I could be considered shy  . It takes us a while to warm up. We are very nice and fun once we feel comfortable it just takes us a little while to break the ice and thaw out a bit! :) You are not alone!

I would LOVE to link resies for late seating dinner with anyone who wants to. I find sitting for dinner with DISers is always best! I tend to be shy myself, and "knowing" my dinner partners ahead of time just makes a lot of difference :thumbsup2

I am very shy and i was a wreck when i was faced to meet 100 people that i chatted with the last year before the Aug repo cruise..but, i was so amazed how wonderful the people were!! I was comfortable instantly, like we were already friends for life!!! So don't fret..We have a great group going on here!! ;)

A group of obsessive vacations planners who spent fifteen months celebrating friendship online and about twenty days in person. A mass so large it nearly took over an entire dining room. People so chatty that one thread couldn't provide enough space. A group so friendly you felt like you were in the show Cheers whenever you entered a room. They are people so generous, the Cool Side Fools had something new to play with almost each day. The Ship of Fools is an ever expanding circle of friends who will set sail AGAIN in 2007 for new adventures and new friends!

^5!

Very nicely put Robin Marie

Hi All!

I was on the PC Repo last year but didn't get involved in any discussions - on the shy side here. I just read through 25 pages of posts so I am determined this year to get to know all of you - to some degree..lol

Traveling will be my DH and I along with DDs ages 3 and 11 in connecting cat 9 cabins with early dining. Also coming along is my mama :lovestruc who just loves traveling on DCL!

Looking forward to chatting!

Mary

Does anyone, or is anyone shy or have a spouse who is? The thought of sitting with people I do not know for meals is the most frighting thing in the world for me. My Dh is not very social at first either (sound more masculine than to say he is shy). Once I get to know people in a crowd setting I am very social. Unfortunately we always travel with a large family group and this time it will be the two of us. If I could win the lottery I would bring some family with me. :rotfl2: Maybe I never win becasue I do not play. Darn I think I just figured out part of my problem. :lmao:

Have a good day all

Heck, I'd put DH at borderline anti-social. In the past, I/we have been somewhat active with our Dis group...meeting up for a couple of excursions and such. But all in all, we love vacations for us...in fact DH has been working away from the states for months at a time, so when we get a chance to take this trip together, we will probably spend alot of time on our own...

The thing I liked about the last group we cruised with is that you can meet up for what you want, as little or as much as you want, but regardless it is nice to be able to recognize and say hi to folks you meet here. We certainly won't be the most active in this meet thread, but I am looking foward to matching faces with names and having a super fun sailaway party!

Welcome Maryisme

We are in the same boat as you. We were on the May PC Repo last year, and we were just lurkers on the boards. After we booked this cruise we decided to join. I'm glad we did. It's been fun. My 2nd DD will be 10 and turning 11 a few days after the cruise. It's great to hear there is yet another her age. Sound like there might be many more kids on this Repo than the May PC. There were only about 350 kids on that cruise.

My Dh works and lives in another state. I am looking forward to being with him, but we do not have the same interests. He LOVES movies and TV on DCL and I love to be more active. I like the cooking seminars, vegatable carving, napkin folding and such. I do like the idea of joining in if you want to and not if you do not. We did the meet and mingle on RCCL and we (believe it or not) spoke to no one the whole time we were there. It was awkward and I do not want to repeat that again. I figure if I get to know some people before we go then at the bare minimum I can at least say hello. If I am luck I will meet our table mates and then I will really relax. I wish I was more like my mother and sister, they never met a stranger. :thumbsup2

Remember - we are a family of fools - so everyone will have someone to talk too - and something in common.

In the future months we will be getting lanyards (makes it easy to find fellow fools), nametags , T-Shirts and most importantly - linking the dining - one list for early & one for late. Last year DCL was able to able to have 100+ early dinners in the same area and about 75 for the late diners.

I still remember arriving at DL (before the cruise) and the joy of meeting people we talked to for so long. I can't remember who did it - but a bunch of us met up by Space Mountain. Bob & His family were there and had fast passes - Mary (his wife) didn't want to ride - offered me the ticket - and I didn't have to worry about leaving my sister by herself (she was with a group of fools). So off I went to ride - even got the front seat with Bob. While they were talking and waiting for us to finish - someone ran up - Yelled - I'm a Fool too ! but didn't have their lanyard with them yet :rotfl2

We also had mini - meets through the year .. we had a wedding in Buffalo - and popped over into Canada - and met people there ! Went cruising on the Maid of the Mist :goodvibes

Count us as the quiet and shy couple too. Although we sailed on the return trip from California my friend decided that we wouldn't join in any activities that were being discussed before the cruise. I heard all about many of those plans from her during our cruise. We sat near the area that many of the cruisers that had linked were sitting. It looked more like a family reunion then a cruise. Everyone seemed to be moving from table to table and laughing, we were sorry we decided to stay out of it all. This trip will be different. I'm going to make sure we get involved more. What Robinmarie decribed was exactly what we are looking for during this cruise. Hopefully we can all be fast friends by the time our cruise departs.

You tawkin ta me??!!..lol Hello there :wave2:
My DH thinks I'm nuts and listens with half an ear when I babble on about my cruise plans..i mean "our" cruise plans...lol. Your going to love the 14 days, it really gives you time to relax, unwind and party!!! The Panama repo flew and before we knew it we were getting off the ship--very sad :(. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Boy that was us last August on the repo! I was sooo jealous of everyone who knew one another..lol I vow I will not let that happen again. I am going to get to know everyone who posts..damn it.. :rotfl2: My older DD will be turning 12 and my younger DD will be 3 weeks shy of turning 4. I'm sure they'll all have a great time meeting and hanging around together!

Wow! I didn't think it was possible but I'm now even more excited about this cruise! It sounds like the last repo was absolutely amazing.

This cruise sounds like it will be awesome!! :thumbsup2 My DH can be a bit anti-social at times too. Takes him quite a bit of time to warm up to "strangers." I, on the other hand always get questions from DDs like "who was that?" and "We're not supposed to talk to strangers Mommy!" :rotfl2: I would love to be linked with others. The only cruise I have had tablemates was my first on Carnival in 1990! And it was the BEST making new friends. I may not be posting much as I am also on the Dec. Double Dip cruise, but I will be reading at least! :goodvibes

I'm excited to be on a repo BRINGING THE MAGIC HOME again. I hope to do the back to back cruises so I will be on board for 24 days if all goes well.
I've been banned from the board for to long now - glad to be back.
The family is taking a Magic Western Cruise this July 29th, but only my DH and I will be taking the repo. Last cruise it was my girlfriend DisneyPita (Carole) and I, but I'm hoping that my husband enjoys our July cruise so much that he comes with me on the back to backs. If not I have grandkids who want to come with me.
Glad to see a lot of the old gang back. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cloud9:

Welcome back - Disney Pata

I had real life stuff to do tonight - so didn't get a chance get any updates on the master list done. :confused3

The first Ship of Fools - was great -- though I remember Dee (Eye RN) telling me 14 days was a bit long - but she is back again for part 2 - (leaving our adopted neice Hope home).

Hopefully - people living in different parts of the country can get together before the cruise (even more fun).

My sister & I (thanks to the free dining) are going to be at WDW from 8/31 to 9/07 - staying at POP. Anybody else going to being going to WDW around the same time period ?

I had not been able to check any of the posts before I posted. Now I have tears coming down - scanning the posts & seeing LOTS of fools going on this cruise too. Now I really feel lucky.
I'm on board - with a TBA (hope it will be my husband)
we will be in Cat 6 in 6566 early dinning (is this main dinning?)
Joyce :wizard: :wave2:
