I was blown away by the service at CL last year at Wilderness Lodge. The cast member who helped us the most was not working when we checked out so we could not tip. I thought I saw somewhere that they like gifts from home(Texas)

We are going back to wilderness losge CL again this October? Anyone ever bring stuff for the cast members or do we just give cash?

Looking for some cute ideas.

I'm sure that any gift would be graciously accepted. It might wind up in a place of honor. It might wind up in the trash can. It's just so difficult knowing what somebody might appreciate from a few business interactions. Cash seems to be universal.

We’ve stayed at CL resorts for over 20 years. Except for some regional specialty candy at Easter one year, we have never given gifts or tips to CL staff. They are not considered tipped positions at Disney. We have never had any service I consider over & above their jobs, just routine assistance with questions, dining or room issues.

Disney hotels aren’t like places like Las Vegas where tipping is expected. Years ago it was reported CMs could be fired for accepting tips. Supposedly they were to politely refuse the tip 3 times. If the guest still insisted, they were to accept the money but turn it over to their manager to be used for a group treat. No idea if this is still the policy. Of course, any time this question comes up, there is always someone who posts that they give cash tips routinely & have never had it refused. But in over 20 years with multiple trips per year, I have never seen nor done it. I don’t think most guests even consider it.

It is usually suggested that CM compliments reported to management or via social media are appreciated & a good for benefit the CMs.

This. :thumbsup2

We often bring treats from our home town to share with the CL staff. They may be very good actors and just toss them but they act like they love them and look forward to our trips each time. I even have them come up and say "we saw the treats in the CM lounge and knew you were here" so I'm inclined to think they like them.
