We'll be at DLR for the first time in 20 years this June. I'm so excited!

Is DLR like WDW, in terms of bringing cameras/camcorders onto rides? That is, can you pretty much bring them onto any ride, and the wilder rides have somewhere in the ride vehicle to place such items?

Or is it more like Six Flags, where you have to use the (unsecured) bins or stow things in a locker?

Rides with pouches for storing stuff:

Space
BTMRR
Indy
Screamin
Soarin

Rides w/o storage pouch:

Matterhorn
Splash
ToT
GRR

Although, GRR does have a free locker rental up to 2 hours right next to the entrance que.

Ah, thank you!

If I choose to bring my camcorder onto the rides, will anyone tell me I can't? While I don't think I'll bring it on GRR, I'd like to bring it on the rest. Not to use, but just to keep it with me.

Camcorders are allowed on all the rides, just please keep the light off on the dark attractions if you choose to record the ride.

you generally can't audio/videotape attractions that feature films.

as far as a still camera goes, i have an SLR and the only attraction I couldn't use it on was maliboomer (and yes, that means it's gone on GRR)

This is correct :thumbsup2 ,
I would also suggest getting a bag that is waterproof for the water rides so your cameras, fast passes, money etc. dont get wet.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll treat it just like WDW then, with the exception of stowing it for GRR instead of putting it in the center compartment like on KRR.

do note that the GRR lockers are 'hidden' so they escape the awareness of many guests who don't know they exist. if i'm not mistaken, they're to the left of the attraction itself (to the left of that giant bear or whatever it is), there's some space and a building of sorts - that should be the lockers - they're not visible at all from the path

Thanks again! I put that into my notes, because Lord knows I'll forget all these details by June.

However, some of those are fairly small pouches and can't hold much stuff. I never seem to get more than my sunglasses and baseball cap in most of them. :cool2:

we carry a backpack when at the parks, usually for wallets and at least 1 camera, usually two. we have no problems taking the backpack on any of the rides, including screamin' and we are big people. we usually just put it between our legs or through an arm or something.
