Bring Me That Horizon: Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho, A Pirate's Week for Me

On Thursday morning, I decided to let the family sleep in a bit. We were at the park until after fireworks ended, and we had already been at this for six days. I woke up, got ready, and went downstairs to the Surfside Lounge to get some coffee and pastries. I got back upstairs and everyone was still asleep. Bit by bit they woke up and got ready and we left our room at 10:00. We went to the Paradise Pier area. I wanted to go on the Golden Zephyr but it was down. So we got fastpasses for Goofy's Sky School. We were hungry and wanted some food from the pasta place and Greek food walkup windows, but they were closed. So we went to Boudins, thinking we would get some chili. But they don't make the vegetarian chili anymore! I had to work with the chef to come up with some allergen-free food for my lunch. He came up with a vegetable sandwich on sourdough and a bag of chips. It was just a roll, lettuce, tomatoes, and olives. It wasn't very tasty, but that's all that was available to me at that time. The olives were excessively salty.

We were ready to use our Goofy's fastpasses. Something happened with a person boarding the ride. I couldn't see clearly from where I was in line, but it held us up for a while. We finally got on after twenty or so minutes. That ride is a lot more intense than it looks. I've been on it many times, but it still always gives me a thrill.

Next we went on Jumpin Jellyfish which was a walk-on. I got this picture of jellyfish from above. It was one of my best pictures all week.

Next we went on Silly Symphony Swings.

This was my very first time riding it. I always had a mild fear and this time I faced my fears and went on. I had my camera on a lanyard around my neck and I wanted to get a couple of pictures. But I was hanging on for dear life, so I only snapped two, then put my camera down and squeezed the ropes of the swing. It was fun, but it made my head feel weird for a couple of hours. I didn't get a headache, but it felt sort of fuzzy, I think.

After that we went on Toy Story Midway Mania. Not one of my better moves since my head was already fuzzy. Not a wise move to then add motion and 3-D at the same time. I still came out the champ, though.

We went up to visit Duffy again. I was wearing a Duffy Mickey ear hat this time. He just loved that so much! He gestured to his ears, then to my ears, and he gave me extra hugs. I was tempted to bring him home with me and leave my husband in Anaheim. I decided that I needed to get a real Duffy of my own. We already have a few different ones in the family. But I wanted one that I could dress up and take with me on my travels.

Next we went to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I walked all of the rope bridges and suspension bridges, and went down the log slides.

I really enjoy this area of DCA.

After working up an appetite, we went to Taste Pilot's Grill for lunch. I checked my social media accounts and saw that DCA Today was meeting their followers and handing out buttons and trading cards. After lunch, we headed over there and picked up some goodies.

Rhyen had been asking to watch Disney Junior Live On Stage. This was our last chance to see it this trip, so we went in. I was still feeling a bit messed up after going on the swings. I think there was also a combination of low blood pressure, which does happen to me at times. Sitting in that dark, cool theater helped me to feel better. And I got to see one of my favorites, Captain Hook!

This is a cute show.

I really like Jake and the Neverland Pirates. But I do love Peter Pan and kids shows, so that's no surprise. The Mickey portion of the show is cute, too.

We went into the Animation Academy for the first time that week. I went into the Beast's Library to see which character I am most like. When I chose to eat nice people for lunch...

It was decided that I am most like the Evil Queen. Well.

This was the first time I really paid attention to the detail in the animation room. All of the decorations, statues, and other accents are so detailed. And I found my Captain in a lot of places.

While we were in Hollywood Land we decided on another ride through Mike and Sulley to the Rescue. Then back to Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical Cafe for an afternoon treat.

I took this time to do some last-minute shopping on Buena Vista Street. I picked up some gifts for friends, and bought myself some of the Mickey Mouse Ear Hat Christmas ornaments. Of course I had to have Captain Hook and Pirates of the Caribbean. Soon, we were leaving California Adventure to go to the hotel to pack.

On our way back to the PPH through the GCH, we saw this cat.

Then it was to the hotel to pack. This is the view of our hotel from in front of the Grand Californian.

We stayed in for dinner. We ordered a Chinese food delivery from Garden Grove. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, but the food was inexpensive and good!

Callie and Duffy as Mickey and Minnie

Callie and Duffy were ready for bed.

Then it was my turn to go to bed. Check-out was the next day and so was our long drive home. :(:sad1:

Friday was the day we were leaving. I already had one trip planned for sure and I knew we would be back for another summer trip next year. But there is always a sadness on that last day at Disneyland.

We woke up, packed and checked out, then walked to Disneyland. I wanted some pictures of the hotel sign.

The colors of the flowers were so pretty. I didn't know if the flowers had changed seasonally.

We walked into Disneyland at right around 9:00. Our goal was to stay only three hours then get on the road.

Adventureland was pretty quiet this morning.

We went on our required ride of Pirates of the Caribbean then had breakfast at the River Belle Terrace. I realized I hadn't taken a picture of the Petrified Tree all week, so I stopped for a picture.

We had time for one last ride and we decided on the Matterhorn. We used up most of our time. We thought about maybe one more ride, but then changed our plans and took the Monorail to Downtown Disney.

We went to Build-A-Bear Workshop and I bought some exclusive Disney clothes for Callie. Then we went to the Lego store.

Their statues are impressive.

I wanted to look in D-Street before leaving. I am always so excited about the Marvel and Star Wars stuff in there.

We headed back to the parking lot of our hotel, but first used the restrooms and took the very last minute pictures I wanted.

We did get on the road around noon as I had planned. At that point I just wanted to get home so I could start planning my next trip... and start writing my next PTR. COMING SOON! :hmghost::maleficen:smickey: :darth:
