Very hot and very crowded. We checked in to GCH about 8:30 Sunday morning: it was like a sauna outside. Rode TOT and Screamin' for the first time--both are too wild for me, although my 16 year old DD loves Screaming. Rode Grizzly twice, with fastpass--fastpass saved the trip. Lunch at Trattoria--it was really too hot to eat, but the air conditioning was nice. Good chicken salad. DD and DH loved the lasagna.

Our good humors restored by a swim at the hotel, we had dinner at Carnation Cafe during the parade. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we could see. Rode Indy, Jungle Cruise, Buzz (loved that ride) and Small World. Watched fireworks from Small World mall.

The rest of the week, schedule wise, is a bit of a blur, so here are the highlights.

1. Unbelievably hot and unbelievably crowded. Still, I think the longest we waited for a ride was 30 minutes--once for Indy on Monday and on Thursday for Dumbo.

2. Monsters Inc. is really, really dull.

3. Dinner at Ariel's Grotto with the princesses was delightful.

4. Turtle Talk is really cool.

5. Just as we were leaving DCA Friday afternoon for the airport, Mickey appeared, as if by magic, by the sun. We got a great picture without a line.

6. AAA fastpass is the way to go. Especially as DD and DH refused to get up early and we rarely got to the parks before 9 am (drove me nuts.)

7. Storyteller's cafe for dinner was a bit of a disappointment--I remembered more choices on the buffet before, and the desserts were pretty bland.

8. On Thursday, about noon, after an early lunch at Pizza Mow Mow, DH and heat exhausted DD went back to room. I headed back to DL. We were already holding FPs for BTRR, Indy, and Buzz, so I spent the next hour and a half collecting more fastpasses. We went back to the park after swimming and having yummy Whitewater Snacks burgers in our room and went wild on rides--Indy 3 times, BTRR 3 times (love it in the dark) and Buzz twice. This almost made up for not getting up in the morning!

9. I really liked the pooh ride. It made me happy.

To tell you the truth, though, this is probably our last trip. DD is 16, DH is a teacher and can only go during vacation times, and it was just too hot and crowded.

thanks for the great reveiw and info :thumbsup2 ....I am a WDW vet, and trying to learn about disneyland for a short up coming trip in Nov. I have been reading about the AAA fastpass. What exactly is it, and where can I read or get info about it.. thanks...amy
