By far the best restaurant we ate at was Le Cellier... That place is truly amazing. I might not ever have eaten there had I not heard such wonderful things about it on this board, so I am truly grateful to everyone here who's recommended it over the past year or so! We sampled the famed cheddar cheese soup (to die for!) and I had the salmon appetizer for my lunch -- it was unbelievably good. I'm not even a huge salmon fan, but it was the best salmon I've ever eaten. Our waiter (Rob) was incredible and, since it was our 15th anniversary lunch, brought us our desserts with "Happy 15th Anniversary" imprinted in chocolate on them! It made the meal even more special... If I could only eat at one restaurant at WDW, I'd have to say it would be a very close race between Le Cellier and California Grill (which we didn't visit this time, unfortunately).
Other places we tried were Yacht Club Galley (very quiet, buffet food wasn't hot enough) and Cape May Cafe (great character breakfast and huge assortment of very tasty food at its buffet) for breakfast; Le Cellier for lunch; and Narcoossee's (very average food, long wait for table even with a PS reservation and not particularly good service -- wouldn't return to this place), Hollywood Brown Derby (excellent food and service, but a bit overpriced, I thought) and Flying Fish (mediocre food, bad service and very loud -- won't return here either) for dinner.
All in all, it was a mixed bag this trip. We tried some new places (Narcoossee's, Yacht Club Galley and Le Cellier) and revisted some that I'd been to before (Cape May Cafe, Flying Fish and Hollywood Brown Derby). I think next trip we'll stick with the old favorites more and be a bit less adventurous. This was our first trip without kiddies, though, so we thought we should try some places that we might not otherwise with them.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to write and let me know! Hope these mini reviews are helpful to someone out there!!
Take care,
Sarah
