Tues. March 13 - unlucky 13 (checking out); Pixie dust - no lines at Typhoon Lagoon;
Up 7:00ish and out to launch, getting to MGM by 9:00 opening. went immediate to Star Tours, then rushed back for first Indy show (had never seen this before either - was closed earlier in week for cheerleading competitions, and closed 'cause Indy was in rehab(?!) on other trips.) Loved Indy. Show was v.g. too. Sat in second row and had great view! Since that had been main reason for going back to MGM and kids didn't want to see anything else in particular, took launch back to Boardwalk for breakfast...but ESPN and Big River not open till 11:30, so opted for Spoodles brunch instead. Was excellent, except that waitress tried to charge us for four adults (check bills carefully!). Finished just in time to go back to room, throw things in bags and get out by 12:00 ( had called earlier to extend one hour past usual 11:00 check-out time). Once again, got out just as clock struck twelve. Threw glass slippers on hotel steps and everything else in car. Would be driving to visit family in Ft. Lauderdale later in day (staying for four nights..to relax and recover!, but wanted to stop at Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours first (something else we'd never managed to get to on previous trips.)
Was spitting rain, but would be getting wet anyway. Wow! Spitting must have kept others away though, as only about 3 rows of cars in lot (instead of 100?) and no lineups anywhere! Hurrah! No major crowds in wavepool either, totally awesome - DD in heaven on water! About a half-hour in wave pool, then took leisurely ride on Castaway Creek - gotta love (or hate) those waterfalls and squirty things! Then proceeded to Gangplank falls (family raft ride) - fun, but much shorter than counterpart at BB. Then braved individual tube rides Keelhaul and Mayday Falls. V.G! Loads of fun. Thought surely DD or DS would fall of latter, but both managed to hold on to their tubes and trunks.
By then it was 3:30ish and worst nightmare had come true...time to say goodbye to TL...and Disney World. (woe were we!) Got a few bags of those mini-made-on-spot donuts for the ride. Began our trip to Ft. Lauderdale (don't worry, not going there) by getting lost within the World, taking the longest of about 10 ways to get to Florida Turnpike, and watching DD lose her donuts! Bad omen, not pretty in Real World; shouldn't haave left; must return soon!
