I've been going to Curves for about a 3 weeks now, but not like I should. I just haven't had time for 3 times a week. But I'm trying. At 19, I'm overweight and know it. I'm not one of those "I'm a size 2 and that's still not small enough" (No offense to anyone, but I have a few friends who think that way). I've been going back and forth between a size 15 and 17 for a number of years now. I just want to get into shape and feel healthy. So, I set a goal of losing at least 30lbs before I go to the Boardwalk Villas for the first time in March. Just felt like it was a good goal because we go to Disney every year, but this will be the second trip my boyfriend is coming with my family. And he's 90% sure he wants to propose while we're in Disney since it's always been a huge part of my life. So with it being an important trip, I want to not only look good, but feel good about myself.

So- in 235 days, I want to lose 30lbs and have a new wardrobe to wear to see the mouse! ::MickeyMo

How exciting is getting ready for this trip??!!!! Wow!!!!

I have no doubt that you can do this, and here at WISH is the BEST place to be. It's the biggest and BEST bunch of losers on the planet!

Welcome to WISH and don't forget, ONE day at a time!

And of course......Just Keep swimming!

Hi!
How exciting! I think you have set a great goal for yourself. You can do it! We are all here to support each other along the way.

Welcome - this is the best place to start and get support. These people have been awesome for me!!!!!

And I agree - how fun is it to plan a trip with a goal in mind!!! WHOOOHOOOO

Remember - lots of water (trust me, I think I've become the water queen lately :rotfl: :rotfl: ).

Keep on

What a great motivation!! I have found that if I write down EVERYTHING that I eat (good and bad) that it keeps me motivated to do better next time. And of course, WATER, WATER, WATER!!! I used to go to Curves, and I loved it while I did! Work the machines hard and take your breaks on the pads. Do all of your work on the machines and you'll tell a huge difference. Good luck!!

Hope you are having a great day!!!!

Keep on

Went for my half hour at Curves this afternoon. Despite a backache, I got a good workout. Missed breakfast though because I slept in, so I had a salad for lunch, no dressing since we didn't have anything good. Got some excercise chasing the puppy around the house too. Dinner, I broke and splurged on a Turkey Club Supermelt at Friendly's. Know I shouldn't have but I've been craving one for months now. Other than that, I've basically only had some Rita's Water Ice for dessert and a pack of Snackwell's cookies as a snack. That and Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade and water.
Planning on getting up early tomorrow to go to Curves to have the rest of the day free, but at the rate things are going, I won't be up until 9 or 10. Oh well, I know I'll make it.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!! My boyfriend/soon-to-be-fiance and I were talking on our way to dinner and I mentioned the Walk-To-Disney idea from the board and told him that starting Saturday, I'm going to see if I can't do it before we leave and he said that he's excited for me because he knows I want to be healthier when we go but he's excited for himself because me looking good will make him want to propose even more. :cool1:

Slept in like I thought, but went to Curves around noon. Went well except I got light-headed near the end. Guess the warm water didn't help enough. But after stretching and stuff, went home to shower and grab lunch. Had a Roadhouse Ranch salad from Quizno's which for how good it tastes you wouldn't think it had 0 carbs! Yum! I've had it before but it's better when I know it's good for me. But that got blown when we went to the movies and had popcorn and a hot dog (it was dinner time though so...). The Island is a good movie, but long. And Ewan McGregor is amazing. Walked about 4.5 miles in all today, between general moving about, Curves and parking far away on purpose. Which, if I stick to that distance every day, I can WALK to Disney in time for the trip!

The popcorn at the movies left me with a HUGE craving for Main Street popcorn. :hyper:

Welcome to WISH!!!

Read other people's journals...and drink lotsa water!!! You have a great reward system-Disney! Good idea.

A cheer to seal the deal!
:cheer2: Day by Day
:cheer2: Pound by Pound
:cheer2: Briar's Just Doin' It!
:cheer2: No messin' around!

Good luck!

Good job on the extra moving around - it is amazing at how fast it can add up when you park further away from things!!!!

Keep on

Didn't make it to the gym today, but made up for it. My dresser was falling apart, the bottom of some of them were actually laying on top of the clothes underneath. So went and bought a new cabinet from Target with shelves so I'm forced to stay organized. Lifting that alone, or at least trying to, didn't work out to well. When my boyfriend showed up in the aisle to help me he laughed at me, 5'3" trying to move this box that was at least 6' tall and 150lbs. We got that to the car, and I told him I wanted to go for a quick walk before we left. So we walked around the complex and stopped in a few stores. Other than the doors and back panel, I put the whole thing together alone. WOW! If I didn't have an air conditioner and three bottles of water, I never would have lasted. That thing is heavy. And now I'll be moving around all night/morning trying to clean up again.

TigerCheer2009- Thanks so much for the cheer! I love it!! I'll have to keep saying it over and over in my head tomorrow afternoon when my aunt tempts me with my cousins birthday cake. But hey, with my 5 cousins and 4 other adults, I might be the one who doesn't get any :rolleyes1

You're welcome!!! Everybody needs a cheerleaders sometime...why not now?

And if they still offer it to you, say you had a big meal before coming, your tummy hurts or you just don't want any.

Best of luck today! (Nice alternate exercise by the way!)

Welcome to WISH, Briar! Sounds like you are doing great so far! Having a trip in the works is always good motivation to lose weight and stay on track! I know b/c I have a trip coming up in over 9 months. ;)

That's funny about the shelf Briar (glad you didn't hurt yourself). Now picture a 4'10" individual doing what you did - been there done that, I can't believe I have never killed myself yet!!!! ROFL

Good idea taking a walk around the complex to work in some exercise. It's amazing at what we do to get some type of exercise in.

Enjoy your reorganizing!!!

Went to Curves, and did the 30 minutes, but skipped a my last two machines on the second time around because they were arm-targeted and I got sunburned yesturday and it hurts to do too much. So afterwards I came home and showered and my boyfriend took me out for a quick lunch. Had the Roadhouse Ranch salad again; MAN are they addicting! He even had one for the first time. He walked home in this horrible heat (it was about 95degrees PLUS all the humidity made it feel 103 when he did this). About a mile in the heat and I'm of course going to worry about him. But he did it fine, no problem for him at all (yet he won't let us move to Florida because of heat??? :confused3 ) Anyway, my friend's dad got us box tickets to go up and see a minor league baseball game, so I spent the rest of the night blowing my diet with ONE stinkin' brownie. It wasn't worth it really. But I'll work it off with some crunchs in the morning.
NIGHT ALL!

Oh, and I LOST 1lb THIS WEEK! :cool1: :cool1:

Great job on the loss - BRAVO!!!!!! You are doing great - and that brownie, if it wasn't worth it while you were eating it then you know that it won't be worth it again. But you had to try it to find that out and now that you did - it's history!!!! Just like the weight!

Keep on

Thanks everyone! I'm so excited that I've finally lost weight. Even 1 pound. :maleficen

Couldn't go to Curves today even though I really should have. My mom was having a horrible day because our dryer broke with the first load of laundry from the week in it. :scared1: so there went like half of the money we had been saving to use for our trip to Ohio at the end of August. So I spent the day looking around for the cheapest dryer we could find that was still decent. Also, she gave me money to go pick up a scrapbook and a few supplies to start working on one for the puppy. Ended up with my boyfriend blowing out his flipflop
(Ok everyone "I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home" :rolleyes1 :drinking1 )
Ok, not really, but he did blow it out on our way into the store, so I drove to the mall and had to go in to Old Navy and pick him up a new pair so he could stay with me (he's my human calculator).
So I parked far and he told me to take the keys so he wouldn't be tempted to move closer for me.
After helping move the new dryer into the house (again, I'm not built for that!!) I sat down and did the first page of my scrapbook from March and organized everything. So now in the morning after I get home from Curves I won't be tearing my room apart looking for that cute "Disney Memories" sticker I bought a few months ago. :goodvibes

And Monday, it's offical, I start the Curves Carb-sensitive Diet, or at least my version of it. :earboy2:

Hi!

Just wanted to say how excited I am for you for you 1 lb. weight loss! Over time, it will add up!

I'm so excited for your upcoming trip in March! :)

Lisa

Sorry to hear about the dryer - hopefully back to Curves next week!!!!!

Keep up the good work.
