Thanks for all the ideas!
KristiLyn, my mom is a HUGE Beauty and the Beast nut, so as a joke, we told her at first that we were going to get DF a custom made golden ball gown for Belle, and I would wear the Beast's blue tux. She looked at us like we were crazy, but I think she was legitimately disappointed when we told her we were joking.
Also, I saw the vinylmations from the other thread in the general wedding area, and fell in love with the idea. I originally wanted to have a 3" for each family we invited to paint themselves, but the cost got crazy quickly.
Totally Kristi... I actually joined vinylnation.net a few days ago to figure out some more info and got in to contact with some really great artists over there. A few are even former Disney employess, and one of them has agreed to paint a pair of 9" vinyls for our guests to sign at the wedding for a small fee, which is really exciting. I also ordered a dozen small 3" blanks today. 10 will be for groomsmen and bridesmaids to paint as they see fit, and the other 2 will be for us to paint for each other, and then use as our cake toppers, hopefully. I'm really excited about it and can't wait to start on mine!
They have a whole subforum there for people who create their own customs. I just posted asking about our idea and if anyone was willing to try it out and got 4 responses within an hour or two... The person I'm talking to is charging us $250 for the set, which is actually not bad, when you consider that they'd be $80 unpainted anyhow, plus shipping. Since it's for a wedding she's agreed to do everything for $250 including buying the figures, painting them, and shipping them. We sent her our ideas of what we want and told her to come up with some ideas too. She said she would send us some sketches within a week. When she does, I'll see if I can PM them to you to show you what she's doing.
Of course Kristi, let me know if you do! Good luck! We're so happy with how they came out. Someone else actually has requested them on VinylNation after seeing them! I was wondering if that was you lol.
The concert was in Boston, down the street from mine and Abby's alma mater. My mom called ahead while we were in the car to get us permission to park on the campus, which was closed for Thanksgiving. In the dark backseat of the car, I was able to reach down and untie my shoe, setting myself up for a classic 'oops, shoe's untied' proposal.

Great story!
My DF pulled the whole "shoe is untied thing too!" Except he had been messing with it all night so when he bent down "to tie it" right as we were getting our picture taken, I said huffily "AGAIN??" Opps![]()
Can't wait to hear more, especially from a groom's side!
