Brian and Abigail's Disney at Home PJ: 6/2/12 UPDATE: Engagement Photos!

Thanks for all the ideas!

KristiLyn, my mom is a HUGE Beauty and the Beast nut, so as a joke, we told her at first that we were going to get DF a custom made golden ball gown for Belle, and I would wear the Beast's blue tux. She looked at us like we were crazy, but I think she was legitimately disappointed when we told her we were joking.

Also, I saw the vinylmations from the other thread in the general wedding area, and fell in love with the idea. I originally wanted to have a 3" for each family we invited to paint themselves, but the cost got crazy quickly.

:rotfl2: DF would have jumped all on that train. I'm sitting next to him on the sofa and I say, "Brian, if I wanted you to, would you be the beast for our wedding". He smiled. "Yep"
I knew he'd be all over that...haha. I'm pretty sure I saw disappointment when I told him I was kidding.

We are going to do the 3" bride/groom vinylmation cake topper as well. I wanted to do something vinylmation related for the welcome bags, but you are absolutely right. Too much $$$

Totally Kristi... I actually joined vinylnation.net a few days ago to figure out some more info and got in to contact with some really great artists over there. A few are even former Disney employess, and one of them has agreed to paint a pair of 9" vinyls for our guests to sign at the wedding for a small fee, which is really exciting. I also ordered a dozen small 3" blanks today. 10 will be for groomsmen and bridesmaids to paint as they see fit, and the other 2 will be for us to paint for each other, and then use as our cake toppers, hopefully. I'm really excited about it and can't wait to start on mine!

Really?? That's awesome!! I'd love to do that as well. If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about getting in contact with that artist? I'd love to have something painted on mine. Nothing major, maybe just the dates or something. And I would do it myself, except for there's not an artistic bone in my body :)
That's incredibly cute that you guys are painting the vinylmations for each other. Such a good idea!!!

They have a whole subforum there for people who create their own customs. I just posted asking about our idea and if anyone was willing to try it out and got 4 responses within an hour or two... The person I'm talking to is charging us $250 for the set, which is actually not bad, when you consider that they'd be $80 unpainted anyhow, plus shipping. Since it's for a wedding she's agreed to do everything for $250 including buying the figures, painting them, and shipping them. We sent her our ideas of what we want and told her to come up with some ideas too. She said she would send us some sketches within a week. When she does, I'll see if I can PM them to you to show you what she's doing.

Yay!! Please do!!
I am a member of vinylmation.net, but have never played around on the forums. I guess I'll start :)

i just found your PJ today and i am totally loving following what you guys are up to!! I guess I just wanted to say hello!

Bye!

Your Vinyls.....:love::love::love::love::love:

I love the "sprinkles" of mickey heads... that wave design is my absolutely favorite cake design by Disney!! :)

Of course Kristi, let me know if you do! Good luck! We're so happy with how they came out. Someone else actually has requested them on VinylNation after seeing them! I was wondering if that was you lol.

Hey everyone! First of all I want to give a Disboards congratlations to Brian and Abigail and here's to their happy future. I am the artist that created the vinyls for the couple, and it was such a joy to do. So I'm glad you all like them! :goodvibes There was nothing but pleasant communication throughout the process. I'm honestly excited for them, they have such great ideas for their wedding! And I had never thought of using Vinyls as guestbooks until they contacted me lol. As far as I'm concerned, you can never have too much Disney :thumbsup2.

So again thank you to the couple for being so great to work with! :earsboy:

The concert was in Boston, down the street from mine and Abby's alma mater. My mom called ahead while we were in the car to get us permission to park on the campus,:car: which was closed for Thanksgiving. In the dark backseat of the car, I was able to reach down and untie my shoe, setting myself up for a classic 'oops, shoe's untied' proposal.

Great story!

My DF pulled the whole "shoe is untied thing too!" Except he had been messing with it all night so when he bent down "to tie it" right as we were getting our picture taken, I said huffily "AGAIN??" Opps :)

Can't wait to hear more, especially from a groom's side!

Haha thanks so much Belle! And everyone else who has been commenting. And Hi there Stephanie (GGG). She is amazing folks! Book her now while you can :)
