at the DLR? I'm kind of afraid the little one will only nurse if we are in the Baby Care Station with NO distractions, but I'd like to know where are some comfy places around the parks!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Innoventions House of the Future, especially the living room with the comfy leather arm chair and the huge tv screen.

Aladdin Show

Disney Railroad

Nemo Submarine (alternative experience)

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

Haunted Mansion

Small World

Tiki Room

The main room outside of Turtle Talk With Crush. The lighting is dim and the music is very comforting. I love that space and there are comfy couch pods to sit on. There were many lactating mamas all taking advantage of the space when I was there for Christmas.

The one thing that makes Disney possible with a little one is a good baby sling. I use a Maya Wrap, but there are so many places you cannot take your stroller. Having a way to carry the baby saved my back and the sling also provides for privacy while nursing.

Using the sling helped to keep her from being distracted. I hope that helps.

In a funny turn of events, my little one was the most distracted when at the Baby Station in Disneyland. She wanted to look at all the other babies. In addition, I wasn't using the sling to keep her shielded.

Have a great Momma Milk filled vacation!

Thanks Eeyore's Wife!

I wear her in a Mei Tai, and never mastered nursing in a sling. At 8 months, something tells me she's not going to be too keen on trying again. ;)

And funnily enough, when I try wearing a nursing cover, DS likes to move it to the side to talk to his sister. Kind of defeats the purpose, LOL! I love the idea of nursing her on rides, I'll have to try that!

Our current little one does not like to "walk and nurse" while in the sling, but I wear the sling and loosen it up (it is a double ring sling and adjusts in a flash) when we are on rides. She sort of snuggles in to nurse on the rides, moving from a vertical carry on my hip to a tummy to tummy hold for nursing.

The sling allows for full modesty for momma and some distraction prevention for baby. Nursing on rides is very common. When we were in Epcot we nursed on the River of Time ride in Mexico. It was a very slow day and there was no on waiting when we rounded the bend to unload and the baby was still eating so I asked if we could go again, and we just lapped on the River of Time, which we lovingly now call the River of Milk.

Nursing is a right in California, and legally you can nurse any place you are otherwise allowed to be. Legally, they can not stop you from nursing nor hold you in violation of any decency acts even if you are sitting there with your ****ies out for display.

I try for modesty and tact, but that is not a legal requirement. Happy Lactating!

Thanks again! I do have a pouch sling that I used when she was teeny-tiny; I'll have to try it around the house and see if she'll tolerate it. I know all about the breastfeeding laws and have always been ready to educate people if necessary, hehe! DS was around the same age when we took him to DLR for the first time, and he was equally distractable, so I just used the Baby Care Station to feed him. Distracted baby + huge breasts + overactive letdown = precarious nursing in public. ;) But a mama's got to do what a mama's got to do!

"It's not about my right to nurse; it's about my baby's right to eat." :cheer2:

When we were there in November, in addition to some of the places listed above, I seemed to end up nursing sitting on the bench we were saving for watching the parades while the rest of the group went on rides. I dont think I got a single strange look, but I did have a blanket over ds and me.

Ah, my life, described so succinctly. :)

Except I didn't even go to DLR until DS was 17 months old, and I just did NOT want to deal with any looks. So Pirates was awesome for that (though do you know how hard it is to get a milked-up 17 month old, who has fallen asleep, up out of those boats?????). Small World was great, BUT when DS was nursing on it they didn't have cameras in the ride, and now they do. And it's so bright in there....

But by then I was always so modest that I'd stopped NIP at all. Spent a lot of time in the back seats of cars while parked, before and after shopping excursions, LOL. At Disneyland he was so distracted by the fun that really only Pirates and Small World were used. :)

Oh by the way, I never was able to use a sling while nursing either. Well, two times. Once as a newborn in the sling with my shirt entirely off in the house. Second as a one year old, in the MobyWrap, long walk, and I fully flashed a truck driver that drove by, LOL. Any other times, impossible! So jealous of those who can!

Oh that would be a perfect place to feed.

I took a 5 month old there last month. I used a hip carrier called Scootababy. It is very comfortable to uise for nursing discreetly. I was a little concerned about the cost at $120. But it has paid off for me. I could never get it right with my wrap or front carrier. She loves being on my side and it is so much more comfortable for me. I was able to keep up with everyone and only had to take her out of it on Toy Story Mania.

there are lots of benches and places around the parks. for quiet (quiet for an amusement park anyway) places i like innoventions in DL and the animations building in DCA. the lighting is lower and there are lots of things for rest of group to do. for me, any bench was fine with sling and/or blanket. i did have an embarrassing moment or two when my darling baby would pull off the blanket, but we lived through it and had a great time at disney. enjoy your baby and the parks.

Thanks ladies!!

And now for a shameless brag, here is a pic of my big boy and my b00bie baby!
