Today, 11:57am: "A New Theme Park is Coming. Universal's Epic Universe will create an experience where beloved stories become vibrant lands and where the journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination".

😂 😂 And that is about all we know since they refused most questions. What a waste of time, they could have shared that rendering and name in a PR release.

Reality is the press conference was to highlight the Governor, Mayor and Universal (and likely OCCC) working together to both get something that makes them look good. The main focus of the announcement was to say they would be adding 14,000 jobs, paying $15 an hour and pushing for the train from S FL to be extended to the Convention Center.

Where are they building this new gate? And the idea of extending the train to the convention center - I like it, anything to reduce traffic.

“Epic Universe”? I really hope that is a working title! Are there any rumors regarding what might be coming to this new gate?

The press release (and rendering) is very vague, but there seem to be a lot of references to it being an immersive experience. That's about it.

It will be on a separate plot of land starting where Kirkman hits Sand Lake (482). Kirkman will be extended south to Universal Blvd. Property is roughly bordered by this extension (with Lockheed Martin campus to the west), Sand Lake on the North Universal Blvd on the South and Shingle Creek to the east. Main gate to new gate (assuming near Kirkman and Sand Lake corner) is about 2 miles.

Now if they would just extend the train out to MCO, Universal would have a better transportation option than Disney.

I just hope it takes a while to build. We are supposed to be moving to a new office and it will be right in the middle of all this mess. Maybe by the time it is ready to open we will be ready to relocate again.
