But, really, the FBI still have the extortion charges against Van der Sloot. They are actually the ones that paid Van der Soot, not the Holloway family. They had set up a sting, (with the Aruban authorities,) hoping to get him to confess to where he hid Natalee's body after they forked over the money. They went to check the house he said he hid the body, found that the house wasn't even
built at the time of the disappearance, and that he pathologically lied again, AND disappeared (to Peru) with the money.

I'm wondering, since this supposed to be done WITH the Aruban authorities, if someone wasn't still working for Van der Sloot's deceased father, and tipped Joran off. How does one so easily get away on such a tiny island to Peru, and they don't know in time?
