BREAKING NEWS....Joran van der Sloot Confesses to murder of Stephany Flores in Peru

I don't think Natalie was the FIRST girl he ever killed.........I think it's the first one that got so much publicity. I don't think Stefanie was the next one he killed after Natalie either.
I tend to agree.......he spent time in Bangkok with young women.

And here we go....

http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/06/10/peru.murder.case.attorney/index.html?hpt=T2

"The attorney for Peru murder suspect Joran van der Sloot said he's going to ask the judge in charge of the case to strike down his client's confession in the death of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez.

Lawyer Maximo Altez told CNN affiliate Panamericana TV in an interview that aired Thursday that he would challenge the confession because van der Sloot was not being properly represented at the time he was interrogated."

Well, hopefully even if the confession is thrown out they won't have too much trouble convicting him. After all, he was the only other person in the room - you can see that clearly on the surveillance video. You can't really argue that she beat herself to death.

Well, if they let him go, he will be walking around free without that bulletproof vest on. . . :rolleyes1

But, really, the FBI still have the extortion charges against Van der Sloot. They are actually the ones that paid Van der Soot, not the Holloway family. They had set up a sting, (with the Aruban authorities,) hoping to get him to confess to where he hid Natalee's body after they forked over the money. They went to check the house he said he hid the body, found that the house wasn't even built at the time of the disappearance, and that he pathologically lied again, AND disappeared (to Peru) with the money.

(I'll look up a news link later. I also have a link for an interview with former FBI agent who worked the investigation for Beth Holloway.)

I'm wondering, since this supposed to be done WITH the Aruban authorities, if someone wasn't still working for Van der Sloot's deceased father, and tipped Joran off. How does one so easily get away on such a tiny island to Peru, and they don't know in time? :confused3

I don't think the Aruban authorities botched the investigation - I think they were bribed or ordered not to investigate the Holloway murder so that evidence could be destroyed and Joran would not be charged. If so (and I really believe it to be true), the Aruban authorities have the blood of Miss Flores and possibly others on their hands.

Thank goodness he was apprehended before he could return to Aruba.
