Wednesday is always hump day....specifically noon.

It's the middle of the working week....and all down hill from here. :thumbsup2

I think usnuz was thinking of something else! :rolleyes1

Fran is having another meltdown. Dang morphine!

If it weren't for the near 100% humidity...would APPEAR to be a perfect weather day.

About 6 hours till the next storm hits...

So I'm cleaning up Fran's old aol email account, she hasn't logged on since April. She had over 7,000 messages when I logged in two days ago, I've almost got her under 5,000 now! :lmao:

:lmao: That sounds like my work email. When I went back to the office, I realised that I had close on 6000 emails that I needed to clean out. That was just in the in-box. I'm now down to sub-500; but I dare not look at the out-box yet!

Is Fran's leg looking more normal or still bad?

Cleaing Email sucks. Shift select.

Is it typhoon season in much of Australia? Is there such a thing there?

I'm under 5,000 now. They are almost all spam. She signed up for all these mailing lists that send an email every day. No wonder she changed to the gmail account!

It's still really red, but now it's all bandaged up. I'll have to go get some bandage cutting scissors because on Thursday we are supposed to cut it off and she has to take a shower. The nurse is coming back in the late afternoon to redress and draw blood for a test.

Do you know a nurse or EMT? They will have the scissors with the bump on the tip to slide under clothing.

No typhoon season in Melbourne or Sydney. There is hurricane season in far north Queensland...usually around March.

No....this is just "unusual" but not outside the norm spring weather for us.

We've got the 'gentle' rain in Melbourne right now. The weather front is expected sometime between 5 - 9 pm tonight. We're only expecting about 2 inches of rain in that timeframe; not sure how quickly it'll fall. I suspect we might another half an inch to an inch between now and 5 pm.
But there are areas of the state that will be expecting 4 inches of rain within 30 or 60 minutes. That's a lot of rain to fall.

By the time I respond, the conversation has long since moved on. Sorry for once again being untimely.

I dont put many people on I use mine as a newsfeed. I am glad people havent found me.

My account is less than 4 days old, and I've limited what people can search. It is weird how people are finding me. People who I either do not know or cannot remember have already requested me. I've denied them.

Eventually it wears off. I joined about three years ago, so there aren't all that many people who I haven't checked out their info page. Now I'm adding DIS friends as most of my HS and College friends are already on there. Occasionally someone new joins, but often times I don't remember them from HS as it was so long ago.

I'm getting to know all the ladies on the WFD thread through FB now.

I hope so. I cannot keep up with the updates, and I thought I had a hard time keeing up with the DIS. My memory is fading as well. A friend I actually remember is trying to refresh my memory on people I cannot remember.

I can understand when people share where they are when on vacation, but when in thier normal area, pffft. That's what foursquare or twitter is for. Of course they wanted their stuff on FB. And now FB has the subscription option now and that is sure to replace twitter.

I agree. I just opened a Four Square account, but turned off Facebook's ability to tell people where I am. Only close friends follow me on Four Square. I already have people I have not seen in years on my Facebook account. They do not need to know where I am every moment (so they are not annoyed and I feel safer). Four Square does have the option to post to Facebook, which I have done once (as I was leaving the place). I do not think I will open a twitter and will never follow anyone. I do not see the point.

I worry a lot about how FB uses the information it gathers.

So whilst I miss out of conversation, I kinda feel that I'm better off remaining relatively anonymous.

I felt the same way for years, which is why I just opened a Facebook account. Hopefully, I do not regret it. So far, I like it. I just hope things slow down. My kids keep me too busy to be on as much as I have been the past few days.

As for the whole Facebook thing. It's been the best way for me to keep in touch with high school friends. It's there. And you get to see what's going on.
I don't add everybody I meet like DBF  and I haven't even bothered to add people I knew in high school that are 'friends' with them. We weren't buddies then and we still aren't. So it's basically hs friends. Uni friends. A few friends from another Disney board who I got to know quite well before fb.
And DBF..... :lmao:
Whom I'd never be with but for Facebook. :rolleyes1 it's a funky tale that one... :upsidedow

I was wary of check ins at first. But they can be loads of fun at times. Especially with overseas friends.

Checking up on old high school and college friends is fun. Most now have families and lots of cool stuff going on. It is neat to see. DH and I have 38 friends in common. He has 362 that I do not need to have. Some of them I know, but they are his "friends'," not mine. I agree with what you are saying.

I am still wary of check-ins for Facebook. If I am leaving, I will do it. I like the idea of maybe checking in while on vacation too, which I never thought about before reading it today.

That why you have all the green trees.

We had a heap of rain last year...much worse last year than this year so far. Before that, we had 13 years of drought. In the last 18 months, Melbourne water storage has gone from 20% to 64%. We have about 2 million megalitres of water storage. That's a LOT of rain water to fall!
