I would love to host a breakfast the day after our wedding before our guests go home. I was thinking of the Garden View Room, since the minimum is so low for morning events. Has anyone done this? I have seen the brunch menus, but I would like a more traditional breakfast menu (eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, toast, etc). I was thinking of a buffet, but no lunch-type options. Does anyone have breakfast menus? Thanks!

I think it sounds great! I just hope you aren't too tired the next day. Might consider that when scheduling your time to be up in the morning. In the end, you may just want to have a nice quiet breakfast with your new hubby!
We did a quiet (well, kinda) breakfast at the castle by ourselves and did lunch with the family the day after. A lot of the family members were checking out that day and they needed time to pack up, etc.

What time are you planning on your reception ending? Initially, we were hell bent on having a group brunch the morning after the wedding at the Crystal Palace. And then it really hit us that we didn't want to have to wake up and get all neat and pretty the next morning. If you're events are ending early enough (and you will get to bed early enough), go for it. If not, you might want to spend the money elsewhere. As nice a thought as it is, you are likely to find yourself too burnt out and exhausted to really enjoy it.

FYI: We were so exhausted after everything that we did all the "fun" wedding night stuff nearly 10 days later at home. That night, we opened gifts from one another, consumated our marriage, and fell asleep. At this point, I couldn't imagine waking up to an alarm the next morning... or having to deal with another "planned" event.

It depends on how late you'll be up the night before - like the others said. We had an Intimate wedding and everything was done by 6:00 pm so we had dinner in our room (very romantic) and went to sleep at a reasonable hour. Still, DH and I are really not morning people and even though we did brunch at 10:30 am, we didn't even want to get up that early!
But it was worth it! It was nice to see everyone the next day and especially since several family members had to leave that morning, if we hadn't done the brunch I wouldn't have seen them again until Thanksgiving, more than a month later.
I don't know what the Garden View Room is like, sorry. We had ours at Whispering Canyon Cafe and the service and the food were excellent :goodvibes

Thanks for your input. We will only have a few days with family, so I feel it is important to share one last meal before they go home. Our wedding will be at a historic home in Orlando. It will probably end around 9pm when everyone will head back to their Disney hotels. We will see...I guess I will contact the GF about hosting a breakfast.

Just another thought -- many of the hotels have lovely breakfast buffets each day - maybe you could make priority seating arrangements for your group (or maybe a separate room??) and enjoy the buffet. "Fresh" at the Dolphin has a beautiful breakfast buffet that would have lots of options.
