Hi - We are Disney veterans many times over, but we have only stayed a property a few trips and tend to eat breakfast at our favorite places - Chef Mickey's if the kids are with us, Kona Cafe ANYTIME (it is our very favorite), and other character breakfasts. We are spending a night at Boardwalk before we go on a cruise in September and are thinking we might want to try something new - outside any of the parks as we will be going to port that day. For people who love Kona Cafe (Tonga Toast and Pineapple-Macadamia pancakes!!!!!) what would you suggest as something new to try?

Thanks in advance!

My all-time favorite breakfast was at the Grand Floridian Cafe. The Stuffed Croissant, with a side of Corned Beef Hash (much to my DH's dismay - he thinks Corned Beef Hash is dog food). I loved it so much we went back a second time during our last trip (which scared DH because he was sure I wouldn't like it as much and would then be ... grumpy for a while). But I loved it just as much the second time. Plus, it wasn't crowded at all.

Cape May Cafe is a character breakfast at the Beach Club which is right across from the Boardwalk...It is a character meal with Minnie, Goofy, Chip/Dale in their beach clothes...It is a very large buffet with tons of traditional breakfast choices...The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing...It is the type of character meal that we would have no problem going to without kids because the food is very good, we love the selection, the characters are so cute, and the atmosphere is great.

Thank you so much! We will consider both suggestions.

I have never been, but I keep reading about the sweet potato pancakes at Boatwrights at POR.

Sweet Potato Cakes - with honey-pecan butter and choice of bacon, sausage, or ham $10.49

Another item you may like:
Banana-stuffed French Toast - with strawberry-banana sauce and choice of bacon, sausage, or ham $10.99

Hopefully a Boatwright vet will chime in to this thread.

Grand Floridian Cafe has an amazing eggs benedict! Also 1900 PF at GF is also good and fun (character breakfast). Basically, I don't think anyone could go wrong with food at the Grand Floridian!

Let us know what you decide!

GF Cafe is a great spot for breakfast. Spoodles is supposed to be very good and right on the Boardwalk.

The Wave is brand new at the Contemporary and their menu looks promising - so far good reviews from it.

Spoodles at the Boardwalk, Yumm!!! ::yes:: or for a quick meal The Boardwalk Bakery. They have some delicious breakfast burritos, fresh baked pastries, and real coffee choices.

Close to your resort... Fresh over at the Dolphin. It's unlike a regular buffet and tends to be a little less hectic because it's off the DDP path.

Further afield... Boma. I just read a review of this and they were raves. (And the pictures looked stunning.) It's at the top of my 'to do' list the next time I'm back home in Florida.

We would have to say Cape May Cafe. We all loved it but DD16 loved it so much we ended up doing it two days in a row and she doesn't think we can go to WDW without eating there!!! It is awesome!!!!
